The defunct Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong to Almaty International in Kazakhstan is an unusual route I flew as a baby. Would love to know if anyone else has flown it.

Not but I recall I had booked it last year before canceling due to business reasons. And I have colleagues in Bucharest who fly that route often.

I've done TER-PDL, GRW-TER-GRW, PIX-TER, TER-SJZ. This was all one trip so the gaps were filled in with ferries. What a beautiful chain of islands!

I did Johannesburg to Maun in 2000. Leased ATR-42 on the outbound, leased Fokker-28 on the inbound. Fun times.

Been to both. Flown between Almaty and Atyrau. But never that route. Got to be unique.

Hmmm.

I think the best shots I have at this are:
PQI-BGR (1991, CO Connection - not sure how long it's been since anybody flew this route)
EWR-BTV (1985, on a 727 - but I know UX is still doing CRJs there)
PHX-TUS (1993, before going through airports took so much time that any sane person would just drive it)
OAK-ITO (when ATA was flying it)
ITO-SFO (when UA was flying it once-a-week)

Internationally, I imagine whether other FTers have flown these routes would depend largely on how many FTers there are from certain countries:
DPS-TPE
DPS-KIX
CAN-HAK
STN-PIK
AMS-CGN
GRU-IGU
FUK-HNL
NAN-HNL
FCO-OTP
