OK KVS. Are you planning to offer refunds to the UA flyers who paid you expecting useful service?

It would be really NICE to get official word from KVS. Their webpage is updated so it's look like getting UA data is done for now, but why and what can we do?

I forgot how incredibly tedious searching on the UA site is.

As posted on their home page:
[Awards-Upgrades/UA] Method 27 Mar 2014 Please note that this Method is no longer available. That was really the only reason I purchased KVS subscription. Makes that last month of the subscription a little worthless.

I believe your quarrel is with United Airlines. KVS sold you a product that they clearly labeled as a specialty web browser, used to access data provided by others. Surely we all knew that the database with upgrade and award availability belongs to UA, not KVS. It appears United has taken steps to block access to parts of its data base when this browser is used. Do you blame Microsoft or Mozilla when Internet Explorer or Firefox cannot successfully connect to a web page that the owner has removed, even though your software works as designed?

So I don't think UA can specifically block KVS technically. Maybe by sending a threatening letter to them telling them to remove the feature.
I had to reinstall KVS and UA method is gone. I still have use for it, single pane access to AC/ETR/DL still makes my life easier. But loss of UA is a big one... |

Having EF (for alerts) and KVS (for fast searches) was great. Now with neither, it sucks. UA's War on Elites & Information continues. |

This is the "normal" way to go through the upgrade search process. It works but isn't great. Or you can enable "expert mode" and add on a GreaseMonkey/TamperMonkey script which shows all the buckets all the time.

Also, for those who are wondering what the C&D letters from UA look like I'm betting that the one KVS received is mighty similar to the one they sent me. |
Trying to use OW -- error code 12045
Even opened another QF account and password but still OW flight awards comes up with error 12045. Any ideas? |

KVS support once again gave quick and excellent service.
In my case he directed me to this link and it fixed the problem and I can now check OW award availability. Thank you!

KVS informed me that the Star Alliance award search tool was an adequate replacement for the discontinued UA search tool. No mention of what to do with the UA upgrade part of it. They were not interested in providing a partial refund.
