I'm trying to search for fares from SMF-YYZ O/W on UA. I'm getting the error:

"missing departure point"

I thought maybe it could be due to the fact that there's no non-stop flight between the two cities, but I'm able to get fares for YYZ-ARN, for instance, where no non-stop flights exist. What's going on here?

Must have been a transient DNS or connectivity issue on your ISP provider's end.

If this ever happens again, please check http://DownForEveryoneOrJustMe.com/www.KVSTool.com

Unfortunately, the [Fares/PSH] Engine does not support searches for Fares from/to SMF.

Hi, I'm seeing an inconsistent number of FS seats between different OneWorld award modes. When searching for 2 seats using Awards/OneWorld, I see "FS+" for a specific trans-atlantic AA flight. But I don't see availability for this flight on the AA website and, when I search using Awards/JL-OneWorld, I see only "FS1" for that flight, which indicates only 1 seat available. Which is correct? I put a call into AA on this, but there is huge wait due to bad weather.

According to the KVS documentation, "+" is supposed to mean "The requested number of seats is available". Is this not the case?

EDIT: I've been digging into this more and it seems the discrepancy is at least partially related to the fact that I was not searching a single segment. When I search just a single segment, the availability for this trans-atlantic flight match between the award modes (and the aa website).

I've discovered something else: contrary to advice I see on this forum, I seem to have found a case in which searching multiple segments at the same time is advantageous. When searching for FS on this trans-atlantic flight segment by itself, I see no seats (confirmed on OneWorld, JL-OneWorld, and aa.com). When I add a short connection on the US side, I see one FS seat become available on the trans-atlantic segment (confirmed on OneWorld, JL-OneWorld, and aa.com). How can this be explained?

As mentioned in the KVS Tool User Guide at http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Factors:
Note: Segment Marriage Logic is generally intended to apply to Regular Availability only. However, occasionally, it can get [mis-]applied to Award/Upgrade Availability as well, due to a human or system error. If you run across a case of Married Segments when searching for Award/Upgrade Availability, check Availability segment-by-segment to determine the actual Award/Upgrade Availability for each flight.
Also, the [Awards/JL-OneWorld] Method is the most authoritative source for AA Award Availability:

I've been having problems searching for BA award availability using the Awards-OneWorld search engine. Checking SFO-LHR on June 8, the response is "No Award Availability/Engine error". But using both the Awards-BA/OneWorld and the Awards-JL Oneworld it shows 1 F seat on BA 286. This problem has happened on a few other dates I had checked last week.

There is currently no Award Availability on that flight:

JL-OneWorld method is not working for me. It's either timing out or saying "engine unavailable". It had been working a few days ago. Any known issues here?

KVS can you explain how to check if a fare is constructed or a through fare?

Hi,

How can I check what was the reason for the delay on BA175 on 13FEB2014 ? Is this too late 3 weeks after the flight ?
Thanks,

As noted in the http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...l#post22467682 Thread, you would need to check the Fare Rules.

However, please note that all constructed Fares are considered to be through fares for Fare Constructions purposes. There are some indications that AADV does not treat them as such, but this has never been officially confirmed.

This data gets archived by the system after ~72 hours, so only BA would have access to it at this point.

Can't open KVS using Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Crossover 9.1.0

-Looking to use KVS for Award Availability on CX for my parents and have read using JL partner award was best way to go.
-I used KVS with Crossover last December and worked fine but today when I started up again got error: "MSIE Cookies Error".
-Researched and found: "CrossOver V9.2.0 (and later) contain a bug that may result in "Session Error -- Please Enable MSIE Cookies" or "MSIE Cookies Error" error messages."
-Therefore replaced Crossover with version 9.1.0.
-Now I can't launch KVS. KVS and Crossover logo appears on bottom "tool-bar".

1)Any ideas how to fix?

-Then read" The"The [Awards/DL-SkyTeam] & [Awards/JL-OneWorld] Methods require Mac OS X Tiger/Leopard/Snow Leopard & CrossOver Mac Version 9.1.0:"
I assume this means that Mac OS X 10.6.8 is not Tiger etc.? (Pardon my ignorance but have no idea of classification of Mac OS).

2) So even if I get KVS working I won't be able to use JL-OneWorld. Is there another manner to search CX? I've read BA is not accurate.

3) If no goof alternative in Q2 I guess I need to find another Crossover alternative?

Thanks for any help.

OS X V10.6.8 is AKA Snow Leopard, so you should be able to use CrossOver V9.1.0 -- please contact CrossOver support for assistance.

[Awards/BA-OneWorld] is more accurate for CX Awards than [Awards/OneWorld], but is less accurate than [Awards/JL-OneWorld].

If a Fare is non-constructed, the [International Construction] section will state so.

Hi

Is the KVS tool reliable for looking for EI award seats using Avios (ie via BAEC) I know it is supposed to be able to but the last time I had a subscription (~3 months ago) I used the power search tool and I couldn't find any available award seats in J from May through September DUB-BOS. It always returned "U?". Does that signify that it wasn't able to search for them?

I would be happy to purchase another subscription if it can be confirmed to be a reliable way of checking for award seats.

EI Award Availability should be searched via the [Awards/OneWorld] Method:

I am also a strictly Apple hardware user with a MacBook Pro, Mac mini servers, iPad and iPhones but I am also a significant user of virtual machines (running windows) on some of this hardware. It really is incredibly useful for development, testing, customer support and running legacy applications like KVS. We use parallels and VMware of which my personal favorite is parallels.

I had a question about the KVS tool specifically searching CX award less than 4 days from departure. For example if I wanted to check award 2 days from now. Is there any other way to check since when I use the tool, it says it's too close to check?

You using the [Awards/JL-OneWorld] engine, correct? It has the limitation you are encountering, but the other OW ones do not. For example, both [Awards/BA-OneWorld] and [Awards/CX-OneWorld] are showing similar a bunch of Business availability on HKG-JFK in a couple of days.

Of course, it's not guaranteed that AA will see the same availability, but I think you have a good shot at the space being available.

Agreed - that's my worry. Esp. since Availability searches for UA (that DON'T show I/O/R space) work just fine.
