Open jaw and multi city search with KVS
I have searched extensively the forum but cannot find the info how to search multi city/open jaw with KVS?
Also my screen doesn't show the "via" option? I signed up for diamond membership. Any help would be greatly appreciated! HNY!! |

I'm having the same problem, but it looks like there's not much we can do. The site where KVS gets the info has changed some of its pages causing KVS to trip up. Without an update to the software, the Fares/PSH method won't work :(

So . . . I take it that means we can't get any fare information from KVS at all? This needs to be fixed ASAP. Can we get a status update? Thanks.

Holy ..... I never knew this existed.

I would also like information on this especially as Fares/FC has been on the blink for months.

Hi, I'd like to use the KVS tool, but I don't have administrator privileges on my work computer. Is there a workaround? Is there a way to install it on my home computer but still "access" it from my work computer without installing? Is there a web-based version?
Thanks. |
I get the same error message with Fares/PSH - hope the various problems with the fares methods will be sorted out soon -this and award availability searches are my two main uses for KVStool.

Thanks. Cut and paste from the KVStool downloads page: If you are restricted from installing software at work, you can: Install the Tool onto a portable USB drive, using your Home PC and the following Setup options: Select [Portable Installation] on the Installation Options screen. Click [Browse] and select an installation folder on your USB drive. Run the Tool directly from the USB drive at work. |
[Fares/PSH] Temporarily Unavailable
We are currently looking into the issue with the [Fares/PSH] Method and expect to have a resolution by no later than 10 Jan 2014.

I just purchased a Diamond subscription to KVS tool and love it.
The only feature I would really really really want is the ability to show a month's worth of flights in the one screen. So when using power search, instead of stopping when it hits a date that fits the filters I apply, just keep going and show me all the valid flights within the date range I specify. That would be killer :) |
Enhanced Power Search
Agreed, a wonderful feature would be the ability to cache ALL the results of a Power Search and view them after the search is done. This would not appear to be a major programming issue.
Having to reissue the search command after EACH hit is really burdensome. Is the problem the possibility that the airlines may cut off the ability to search if there are too many robotic searches? |
Is there any delay/lag/discrepancy between what KVS shows for award availability via the StarAlliance7D function vs the web-based ANA tool?

Are you allowed USB drive access? If so maybe you can run the portable version on a thumb-drive: Cut and paste from the KVStool downloads page: |

No, I don't have USB drive access. I take it there's no web-based or other similar way to use the tool?
If you are able to download and run the KVS Tool Setup on your computer, you should be to install the entire app into a writable folder and run it from there. |

When I started using the tool, I actually had to look up how each of the three methods differed slightly so as to make sure that I was using the right one. These days, I have to remember not to choose the fare method that's been in the drop down menu for a while but will probably never work again. Only to be stuck with no functioning methods at all over the course of about two weeks. I still think KVS is a well made and well maintained tool, but this latest episode has highlighted its major flaws and inherent weakness where there's really no guarantee that any information source will still be available the day after I decide to renew my membership. None of that is anything that the author of even the best made tool can really prevent as long as he or she relies on the existence of a website that's willing to spit out the right data in the right format. Clearly, that's becoming more of a gamble than ever before and it's a gamble I'm no longer willing to make. |

Thanks for that update. However, this problem has convinced me that for someone like me - who mostly uses KVS as a tool to look up fares - the software isn't offering the value for money that it did when I first purchased it.

No fares available is a too big failure |

If there is no added value above ITA I am better off using company websites and ITA. |
Im fairly new to this forum but an avid traveller. On another few threads people have came up with great Bus Class fares from Dub-JFK-MCO however i would rather have a better final destination.
Does the KVS tool allow you to see the above fare rules to easily work out if there are other destination options ? |

Does the KVS tool allow you to see the above fare rules to easily work out if there are other destination options ? If you want to see whether there are other possibilities to get from DUB to MCO, then yes, KVS can - when it works - show you the routing rules attached to a certain fare which can help you find different or additional stopovers. |

Yes and no. Fare rules are often the same or quite similar for a whole list of destinations, but in my experience they will never present you with a list of possible destinations. So you'd have to try a few places to see if anything similar comes up.

KVS shows this availability. But every booking engine, including United.com, only offers me a W seat. Can anyone explain?

Could be any number of reasons.
OK maybe not the last one. |
Help?
:-:
Question: I'm thinking about getting KVS. Are there any airlines that have restricted access or just simply never show up on KVS? I'll be doing a lot of BOS-ATH searching, using multiple via points to get there. Thanks! |

Resolved: [Fares/PSH] Method Issues
[Fares/PSH] Method issues have now been resolved.
Please restart the KVS Tool if necessary. |
Hello KVS, is there a code for a long time FTers avail? I've tried YGPM on Diamond option and it says that it's not valid.
Thanx a lot, regards, Victor |

Flights to Bkk via NRT
I'm trying to use KVS to find some good fares from Mia to Bkk on AA around Feb 10th. Using the Fares/PSH, I see some good fares. When I check Availability, I see Flights on AA to LHR then on TG to Bkk.
How can I see the availability of AA flights to Bkk via NRT? |

I would suggest searching one leg at a time for that.
