why does a oneworld award search generate EK results? Clearly not oneworld.

KVS Mobile No Longer Shows O/I availability for LH flights. Is this permanent or will that functionality be returning. It did show I/O about 24 hours ago.

Thanks

LH O/I/X Classes may often be included in Regular Availability searches.

However, for reliable and consistent access to LH Award Availability, you should use the main KVS Tool application:

Awards/Oneworld searches not working for me this morning. I get an error message "Data Source Error L - Incorrect QF FF Credentials". I have verified my QF FF number and password. Using version 7.2.4 of KVS.

UPDATE - problem now seems resolved.

Fares/FC - Availability-GTC

-no fares found between TYO and FLL/MIA using Fares/FC method?
-Availability/GTC method not working? credentials are valid and verified

Using latest 7.2.4.R1 version...

The new search engine of the beta version is a kind of script which is searching day by day and is stopping at the first positive answer.
Isn't it possible to have the results like the method "Awards/StarAlliance-7D" with all the positive answers ?

Have just started playing around with the beta version and noticed this too. Any news on a version that will show all results within the specified date range?

We have just posted notices regarding both of these issues at http://www.KVSTool.com/

The intention behind the new [Power Search] function is to locate Regular, Award and Upgrade Availability across a multiple date range (when a standard specific-date search is not sufficient):

http://Help.KVSTool.com/#PowerSearch

There are number of reasons why it is not designed to show results for multiple dates simultaneously, one which has been noted below:

However unless the appropriate itinerary is requested, the results returned for all dates could be quite overwhelming … which also would make it useless. :)

The [Power Search] function is much more powerful than the 7-Day search provided by the [Awards/StarAlliance-7D] Method, which is limited to direct flights only and will also stop searching, once it locates a sufficient number of flights with positive Availability.

Jim055 Sep 6, 2013 12:45 pm

Power Search needs a "Continue" button. The user can note the results and continue on with the search for the remaining range of dates. Pretty simple to add and worth a try in the beta.

I'm getting the hang of this. Power search is basically a macro for the tool. That said, it stops at the first instance of the filter. It needs a "continue" button to resume the rest of the search.

This has already been implemented in the latest Beta -- if you click the [Power Search] button after matching Flight(s) have been located, it will continue from the following date.

Was wondering why KVS/ANA wasn't working suddenly, so I logged into my ANA account and found that the Star Alliance awards options were all grayed-out.

Should I have some miles in there?

I used to have some in the account a long time ago, but none now...

The [Awards/StarAlliance] Method continues to function normally.
What is the exact issue that you are experiencing?

No, this limitation does not apply to KVS Tool users.

I am receiving a timeout with KVS/ANA.

(Was on JP-ANA-SP1 (Error Requesting Data [I]: Error 12007, Error 9002.) and JP-ANA-STD (Error 9001: Time-Out Requesting Data))

I have my ANA card number and PIN in KVS, so this should not be a problem-except for the fact that my online account with ANA doesn't allow me to search for *A awards...

AA/AY reward availability

aa.com shows no availability, but KVS shows availability on an AY flight (YS+). Can I book this using AAdvantage miles by calling AA even though the flight does not show up on aa.com?

belfordrocks Sep 10, 2013 10:10 am

Yes you should be able to.

AA.com is not set up to show availability on AY flights. As of now only BA, AS and HA flights show availability on AA.com So yes, if you call it is likely that your AY flight is available. There will be a fee for booking over the phone.

Anyone else having an issue with copying and pasting when using version 7.2.4.R1 on Windows 8? Essentially everything I copy and paste into KVS tool is truncated by a single character, including passwords. Copying and pasting into any other app works fine.

Not sure if updating to the latest version may help, but v. 7.2.5 has now been released.

Why does a oneworld search of IB awards produce results but BA is showing no availability??

It is an issue with the Windows/Parallels system that the OP is using and not the KVS Tool itself.

What are your search parameters?

tomwht Sep 12, 2013 6:59 pm

I am using 7.2.5 and trying to do a fare search in Fares/PSH for business fares . But all I ever get is an error: "Datasource Error "_logo.jpg"

GinFizz Sep 12, 2013 8:50 pm

I get the same error message (Datasource Error: "_logo.jpg") using 7.2.5. The Fares/DRS method still works but does not give any of the BA flights I am looking for. Any workaround for this?

EDIT: works for me now (Fares/PSH) - no longer getting the "datasource" error. Installed some Windows 8 updates, rebooted the computer and waited an hour or so. One (or none) of those must have helped :)

Interline Agreements

Are all interline agreements symmetrical?
When sending interline bags from airline XX to ZZ, do I look up airline XX on KVS interline reference and look for an agreement with ZZ, or should I lok up airline ZZ and look for XX?
thanks

Yes, virtually all interline agreements are reciprocal.

Checking award space on a MU flight - Awards/SkyTeam shows CS+ but Availability/FS shows O0... which one is accurate?

[Awards/SkyTeam] should be more authoritative for MU:

When I try to use the departures/arrivals search tool, into Miami, for a date within the acceptable date range, and keep getting the following error:

Error Requesting Data [R]:

Error 12057: Gopher - Attribute Not Found
Unable to validate the revocation of the SSL certificate because the revocation server is unavailable.
Disconnected (1s)

Error 9002: No Data Received
Disconnected

I have entered a valid FlightStats username/password and made sure that the default settings were still intact.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. When I click on Internet Options there is no Advanced tab, but if I pick the Security tab there are only the Internet, Local Intranet, Trusted Sites, etc options with a sliding bar underneath to increase/decrease the security settings which I am unable to move.

I'm using KVS via Crossover on a mac so not sure if that has anything to do with it...
