[QUOTE=KVS;20744234]Try to clear MSIE Cookies and restart the KVS Tool.

Also, what route/date are you searching?

I was searching HKG-YYZ in June 2013 (any date) - various other routes fail as well.

I do not know how to clear MSIE Cookies as I am running KVS under Crossover - not sure where Crossover would store such Cookies (clearly it is unrelated to Safari cookies). Note the request seems to fail after completing the search but before displaying the result.

After reading the KVS help and getting a 9001 timeout error (after seeminly completing the search) using the BA OW method I found the following instruction:

To access MSIE Cookie settings, click the purple [Tools] button at the top of the KVS Tool, then click [Internet Options], select the [Privacy] Tab, click [Advanced] and enable First-Party Cookies, as shown in the MSIE Cookie Settings Screenshot.

When I click Tools/Internet Options there is no "Privacy" tab only "General" "Security" and "Content"

You should be able to access MSIE Settings by installing Internet Explorer in CrossOver.

Please send a full window screenshot that includes the 9001 error via http://Contact.KVSTool.com/

Problem with BA award

I have been doing everything possible, clearing cache etc, still not working. This is the result of searching BA on oneworld award -

What is the matter?

Thank you.

Slightly confused as BA Award Availability isn't in the list on this page - http://www.kvstool.com/MembershipLev...bershipOptions - at Platinum, only at Diamond ....

Are you running the latest KVS Tool Version (V7.1.9)?

We had to remove BA from the Platinum level list on the Summary page, as many new users were getting upset that they could not use the [Awards/BA-OneWorld] Method after signing-up at that level.

Yes. Latest version.
I also notice that when I use another pc, even on version 7.1.7, it works.
So what is the problem?

Please check your MSIE Cookie settings (http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Cookies), clear MSIE Cookies and restart the KVS Tool.

What route/date are you trying to search?

Hi, I cleared cookies as I said in my post one page earlier, re-started the kvs tool, and tried different routes eg, hkg-jfk, lhr-jfk etc on different dates.

What is the problem?

Did you specifically clear MSIE cookies or some other browser's cache?

Since it works on your other computer, you must have something installed on this one that is interfering with the KVS Tool.

Routing Rules Question

The KVS FAQ gives examples of routing rules that only contain airport codes (eg: NYC-CHI/DFW-SFO/LAX-HNL). However, when checking routing rules for fares I am interested in, they often seem to have airline code(s) in between each airport code. Eg:
PAR-AF/KL-XXX
I assume that this means that travel between that city-pair must be on (one of) the indicated carrier(s). However, is this referring to marketing carrier, or operating carrier? (For example, say there is an AF-coded flight from PAR to XXX, operated by a different carrier - would this routing rule allow it to be used, or would the operating carrier's code have to be explicitly listed in the routing rules for that to be possible?)

It refers to the Marketing Carrier. Operating Carrier/Flight # restrictions, if any, will be noted in the Fare Rules.

Tax?

I was hoping to renew my membership and I noticed it is adding tax to my total. Any idea why? I don't think you're based out of CA(please correct me if I'm wrong) and in any case, it is being labeled "contribution" so should be tax exempt?

Thanks.

I thought he was in Canada. Are they authorized to collect US staes' sales tax?

fedechat May 20, 2013 9:13 pm

It is me or KVS does not show any more 4M flights (XL,LA)? looks like the problem is on QF search system (Awards/OneWorld). I tried many dates without any luck, but it will show you on LAN.com (I'm talking about the lowest award level).

Thanks. The more I'm look into this, the more I'm convinced that they shouldn't be collecting taxes. Wondering if we can get KVS to comment on this?@:-) Thanks in advance!

This is something that is handled by our online payments provider and they are based in California.

The LA Group is known to have periodic system connectivity issues with its airline partners, so a manual Long-Sell may be necessary.

Is anyone else having problems with renewing their KVS Tool?

I completed the renewal/contribution page at Diamond level 2 weeks ago. I received the temporary code, but haven't received the permanent code since.

I've filled in the support contact form to raise this issue twice, but have received no response.

I am getting suspicious that maybe the company is having some kind of problems, but they still seem to be posting here...?

It appears that you did not complete the Registration Wizard Form at the time of the renewal 2 weeks ago and have only completed it today.

Your Permanent Registration Code has now been issued via e-mail.

Hi, I will look out for it. Thanks.
Actually I've completed that form 3 times since I renewed.
I did complete it again today, as that was indicated on the support web page as the recommended way to send a support request about registration issues (though I have also emailed to the support email address, but received no response).

We have received 3 submissions (2 via the Form and 1 via E-Mail) and they were all dated yesterday.

In any case, a warm welcome back to the KVS Tool!

RDP May 23, 2013 9:28 pm

I renewed my subscription recently and was excited to have KVS showing me the whole picture again on my routing options instead of restricted views from other sites. Unfortunately SkyScanner shows me one option (which is the one I actually like vs. KVS which does not show the option). Is this a KVS issue or a user error issues (such as I am not using the program correctly?)?

Example:

Timetable/NL-BCDF

BWN
NRT
Sat 29 June 2013 - 06 Jul 2013 (date selected was Jul 2 2013)

I get four pages of output but the KVS system does not show me the option of:

BI 423
BWN 1830 - SIN 2035
> NH 902
SIN 0045 +1 - NRT 0845

SkyScanner does show me this option on this date, is there a reason?

Thanks,
RDP

lewinr May 23, 2013 9:59 pm

RDP, did you try to book that option? Sometimes skyscanner shows me an option, and when I click through to whatever site skyscanner pulled it from, I understand that the option is unbookable.

There are thousands of possible connections, so only the best connections are shown. In your example, BI 423-NH 902 results in a total travel time of 13+ hours, while there are much shorter (8-9 hour) options available.

However, you can still see the connection you are looking for by specifying "BI; NH" in the [Airline(s):] field:

Yes, seems to be bookable no problem by cliking through to Expedia.c.jp. Even if it was not bookable I am only looking at routing options (hence the use of the KVS Timetable tab) so if the flight is not a valid booking pair I still might recommend it to my client to be booked as two separate tickets.

Strange!

It's interesting to try and decide how you want to define "best"! ;)

For me "best" is the NH902 flight as I need the client to fufill two criteria:

1: Depart on the 2nd from BWN and arrive as early as possible on the 3rd in Tokyo.

2. While keeping in mind the requirement shown in 1 also to weigh heavily a preference for NH operated flights.

So, in my case the NH902 is option is "best".

I wonder, can I relax the seach to cover a longer time period? It seems that on my printout 12:30 total travel duration is the maximum while the flight I want is 13:00+ hours. Is this a user definable criteria?

As a final option to try and satisfy my need for (in this case #2) the arriving flight into NRT to be on NH could I do a wildcard on the airline choices? I notice you reccomended to me to enter " "BI; NH" in the [Airline(s):] field", can I leave the "BI" portion out to therefore specifcy any airline to start with but ending with NH? Maybe this could be a solution.

Thanks for your time!

Try http://matrix.itasoftware.com/search.htm for these kind of seaches. It is free and allows you to restrict the search to routings, connection points, airlines etc

At the moment, I am not getting a connection to KVSTool.com, either through the software or through a browser. Are others having similar problems?

Our hosting provider had experienced an outage earlier on today, but we have now restored access to all core KVS Tool services.
