KVS Tool requires CrossOver V12 or earlier (preferably V9.1.0). CrossOver V13 contains a bug that may cause "Error 35758: Unable To Retrieve Data". Search For Download Locations or contact CodeWeavers for assistance in obtaining an earlier version.
You can download an earlier CrossOver version from: http://Media.CodeWeavers.com/pub/crossover/cxmac/demo/ |

Just purchased a Diamond subscription, and have a couple questions regarding award search:
1) Can I search, say LAX->HKG, F availability from Dec 8 - Dec 12, or do I have to do one search for each day? 2) If my trip is from SEA -> PVG, but I want to fly on CX through HKG, should I search SEA->PVG, or should I do 3 searches like SEA->LAX, LAX->HKG, and HKG->PVG? |

I'm receiving a "Datasource Error [I]" when attempting Awards/AC-StarAlliance searches on relatively common routings that worked yesterday. Any ideas? Thanks.

Please clear MSIE Cookies and download KVS Tool V7.3.2.R1 to ensure that an appropriate Error Message is displayed. |
Are we getting better fare information back?
Hi, Are you planning to restore the previous fare search functionality (including YQ) any time soon? To be honest, a fare without YQ surcharges is only good for looking up rules, the price itself is meaningless.

In today's world this should be a service in the cloud which you can use from any browser (instead of trying to come up with versions for tablets and phones, supporting Macs and all of that).
When can we get a cloud version? So unless the present limited access to the airline data is changed (so you don't need to log in to your account) to get the info, it won't work. Expert Flyer tried to do this as a web application and was blocked as a result.... |

In the meantime, please double-click a Fare and use the [ITA Query Builder] function to calculate the total pricing, including Surcharges: http://Help.KVSTool.com/#ITA |
I am a first time user of KVS and subscribed last week. I have looked through the docs, signed up for the ANA account, but am not having luck doing the following:
Search for upgrade availability on UA, from coach to business class, using a GPU on an eligible fare (ie W class or higher). These are the parameters I have used: Awards/Upgrades Method: Awards/StarAlliance From: AUS To: HKG Date: April 15, 2014 Airlines: *A Star Alliance (All 31 Member Airlines) POS: JP-ANA-SP1 Sort By: Connections Seats: 1 Filter Filter Results: Yes Availability Required in Class(es): R Power Search Date: 16 Apr 2014 Range: 14 Days I have not gotten any results. What am I doing wrong or overlooking? Is 'R' the correct class to be searching for? A PM would be great, or direction to a particular post # in this forum as I am feel my question is probably a common one. Thanks in advance! |

I am also a new KVS user and am having the same bad luck as the most recent poster.
I am trying to get this to work and can't follow the directions. The only option I get for POS is ANA. I have tried restarting. I've never been prompted for my UA id/pw, only for the ANA id/pin. I am on a MAC running Maverics with Crossover 12., as recommend. I can't get v9 to run under Maverics. When I try ANA i get an error message from WINE/Crossover. Please advise. |

Change the METHOD to [Awards-Upgrades/UA] on the 'Awards/Upgrades tab'. I think it defaults to [Awards/StarAlliance] -- or that is what I had selected. After doing this, and running a new search I was prompted to enter my UA credentials and then I was able to run the search and check the 'R' inventory. |
[QUOTE=midnightio;21885326]To follow up on this prior post, I have found that to properly run this search I needed to:
Change the METHOD to [Awards-Upgrades/UA] on the 'Awards/Upgrades tab'. I think it defaults to [Awards/StarAlliance] -- or that is what I had selected. Finally I found the "method" window and things are working well. The only remaining problem is .... KVS sent me my diamond credentials overnight, but I did not get the registration number in the email. That's pretty frustrating, but easy to fix. |

Was wondering if somebody could help me and tell me what the availability of upgrade seats on QR 570 (DOH-BLR) on December 15, 2013 is?
I'm having trouble setting up KVS on my mac. Thanks so much. Looking for an Economy to Business upgrade. Cheers! |

AC fare: YOW to DXB - 2 questions
Two questions on this fare:
a) it is not clear to me whether there is or is not a fuel surcharge - one area under infant under 2 years old, not occupying a seat - no fuel surcharge. But there is another area below this statement, stating that there is no fuel surcharge. A third area does state that there is a $450 fuel surcharge in both directions. b) Free stopover cities are listed below - in the various hub cities. IST is not mentioned. In the routing rules section, it is mentioned that one can go via IST, and one can use TK on the itinerary (as long as it is not one of the flights crossing the Atlantic ocean). The question is whether when can stop over in IST (more than a 23h59min connection), for either no fee, or a minimal fee. Or for such a stopover, does one need to buy 2 tickets - one to IST, and a second one from IST to DXB. I did see the fare rules on other Star Alliance carriers (I only wish to fly on such carriers, so I can get AQM (ie EQM/Status miles) with Aeroplan. For example, for the LX stopover rule (see immediately below) suggests that a stopover at IST is allowed for a nominal $100 fee. So does that mean if I get the ticket issued by AC, it too will allow or not allow a $100 stopover fee in the non-allowed hub sites, as per its fare rules? [Stopovers] 2 STOPOVERS PERMITTED ON THE PRICING UNIT - 1 IN EACH DIRECTION AT CAD 100.00 EACH CHILD/INFANT DISCOUNTS APPLY. NOTE - TEXT BELOW NOT VALIDATED FOR AUTOPRICING. EACH STOPOVER TAKEN UTILIZES A PERMITTED TRANSFER. STOPOVERS ALLOWED ONLY AT POINTS AS PER ATTACHED ROUTING. [KVS Availability Tool 7.3.0/Diamond - Fare Rules: YOW-DXB/AC/ZRC11/2851 CAD] Code:

You can only have a stopover in the listed cities on the AC Fare. The LX Fare allows a stopover anywhere on the routing. I thought of another question, regarding the fare rules for AC, LX, or other airlines. Let say I buy a ticket issued by AC. That means that at least one of the 2 transatlantic flights have to be designated as an AC flight on AC metal or codeshared on the other Star Alliance partners mentioned (TK is not one of them), or does it have to be both transatlantic flights (one in each direction) have to be designated by an AC flight number (ie AC metal or AC codeshared). In this scenario, I could fly either directly to LHR or FRA on AC (in at least one direction) from/to YOW, but not in the other direction, and not on any any additional AC flights when flying intra-European flights or Europe/IST to DXB flights. So the itinerary can legally, by what is mentioned in the fare and routing rules, just include one transatlantic AC flight for the whole itinerary? |
Hi KVS,
Do you know if this is expected behaviour or not? I am trying to view the seat map for MH807 on 18/01/2014 but it is not available. It seems that this is failing on on cabins which are zero'd out (ie no availability). I can view the seat map for MH 805 / 803 in J without any problems but for MH 807 / 705 in J without any luck.
