KVS shows AA award avail but does not show in AA site or in call
 

I just started using this tool and am confused as to why it is showing AA award space that does not exist at AA.com.

Search: ogg-ord on Nov. 15

Shows availability for 2 economy seats for the Milesaaver awards (YS+), but when I checked on the AA site and called in, there were none available.

Perhaps I am misinterpreting results of doing something wrong, but if anyone can explain this, I would be thankful.

You are correct and this is strange. Even checking AA.com point to point there are no economy award seats on the flights which KVS shows as available. I guess we'll wait to see what KVS says here.

Which engine are you using? Both [Awards/JL-OneWorld] and [Awards/BA-OneWorld] seem to be showing the correct availability (i.e., none).

I renewed my subcription to diamond for 6 months cause i was really satisfied with the software but i have been experiencing a small problem.As soon as i ask for awards/upgrades
for the trip from ATH-LHR in 27th of March and return LHR-ATH 6th of April,using the Awards/BA-oneworld mode,i get the same message---> no award availability/route too complex....which one of two is correct?the lack of available seats for upgrade from Eco to CE or the route is too complex and software cannot sort out any available upgrades?At the same trip of mine, at the same date 27th of March ,it does show award seats from LHR-LIN in Milan and return on 30th of March back to LHR...that is the first time i notice a message like that.Could you please help me?Thank you in advance!!

In my experience and looking at the route you're trying it simply means there's no availability. If you try the JL-OneWorld method it will show you instead the actual number of seats available which will be 0 if there's none. You have to have a JL account to do this but it's free to set up.

Here's the result for ATH-LHR on 27th March with the JL method:

I normally start looking about 7 days out. That seems to be when revenue management considers opening up more seats if the flight isn't too busy. Good luck.

What are the flight #s in question?

As noted in the KVS Tool User Guide, the [Awards/JL-OneWorld] Method is more authoritative for AA Award Availability:

The search lists several flight available on AA, such as 254-1062; 14-1445; but none of these are actually available on Nov 15.

Thanks, and I will try the JL search as well, but just seemed strange that this would show as available on the OneWorld search.

There is no Award Availability on those flights:

It is a known issue with the [Awards/OneWorld] Engine for AA flights.

Does KVS offer a free trial at all?

Question posted and answered many times before - NO. They offer a cheap 2 month trial, but not free.

Is there a listing of what the text in the status bar means while performing a search?

Also, I have registered KVS on new computer and I'm receiving an Error message sometimes but not always:
Datasource Error [R1]
"Could not find an airport for SFO"

Usually repeating the search a few times fixes the problem

KVS, can you tell me if the Tool still not showing 4M flights?, because I was able to see it in the past (Awards/OneWorld option) but a friend of mine couldn't find a single seat :( with the tool.
LA in the other hand have few 4M on the lowest fare (35K kms each way).

Our few random searches are also not showing any positive 4M availability on that route ...

I was afraid of your answer :(, after QF made the change on their website (few months ago), they will not show 4M flights anymore, even at 331 days in advance.
Since KVS tool use QF system, there is no way to find 4M flights with any tool, unless we call AA/BA/QF and find a agent that know how to look on that particular airline :eek: :(

Currently getting an error on the AC-StarAlliance award search. No matter which airports I put in I'm getting an error message:

Datasource Error [RW]:
The city/airport entered cannot be found

Have been using it successfully all morning and it just started to error out.

Make sure you are running the latest version (V7.3.4), clear MSIE Cookies (http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Clear) and restart the KVS Tool.

Checked availability of a UA flight, but KVS's result seems inconsistent with UA's expert mode result, which one to trust?

Trying to find a way home from IST, and a route mapper suggested IST-ZRH-YUL-CLE.

I see no FS/CS awards available:
While looking at another route, I see the same exact flight (LX86) with CS award open. Why am I getting different results on the same segment when using a different route?

They are most likely what are called "paired" flights and happens when a carrier will make seats available (on the ZRH-YUL) flight for passengers connecting from a more distant and higher fare point (TLV).

For AAA-BBB-CCC, if there is only availability on AAA-BBB but not BBB-CCC, on UA if I search AAA-CCC it will show no availability for both segments.
If I search AAA-CCC in KVS, does it do every possible segment separately? or does it just search AAA-CCC on UA?

Yes, that is the current logic that the [Awards-Upgrades/UA] Engine uses.

The search will be performed exactly as requested by the user.

There could be many thousands of potential routings and no website will check or display them all.

Each Engine has its own route construction logic.

Just to make sure, I am using a MacBook air running OS 10.9.1. The primary reason I want KVS is for access to the various Delta award buckets. It seems this is not possible with CrossOver? Would the other free emulators or virtual Windows apps work for my use?
