Ensuring "Saver" or Low Award Rate on Flights Found
I just started using the KVS tool as a diamond member last night and am really beginning to enjoy it. I had a question about search Star Alliance.
I plan on booking some Star Alliance flights using both United miles and US Air miles. When I search for Star Alliance with KVS, I found a lot of candidate flights that say "YS+" in availability. For example: [KVS Availability Tool 7.3.3/Diamond - Awards/StarAlliance/JP-ANA-SP1] Code:
YUL Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau/Dorval QC CA [CYUL]Standard Awards (KVS Tool) = "Low" Awards (US DM). Standard Awards (KVS Tool) = "Saver" Awards (UA MP). I tried to search on United for the same date and couldn't find that flight at all. Perhaps it's either (a) United "hiding" AC flights, or (b) user error on my part. (I suspect it's most likely b, :p) Here's a screenshot: http://s27.postimg.cc/onko03oun/united_search.jpg |

For example: I saw the note for US Air and United in the KVS FAQ that says: Can I expect that to be eligible for a "SAVER" award on united, or a "LOW" award on US Air?

Hi there,
I'm trying to find JAL award seats... In particular I'm interested in the BOS-NRT non-stop. What type of search/engine should I be using? I'm interested in the month of September. I'm familar with CX but this is the first time I'm searching for JL seats. |

You should use [Awards/BA-OneWorld] engine to search JL awards.

Interpreting 'On-Time Rating' In Availability/FS
Apologies if this is already answered somewhere, but I couldn't see it in the FAQ.
When I click on a flight in Availability/FS, the bottom-left of the window normally displays an "On-time rating", shown as a score out of 5. I assume that 5 = "always on time", and 0 or 1 = "always massively late", but is there any more specific interpretation of these scores anywhere? Does it refer to the frequency of delays, or length of delay when it occurs, or some combination of the two? Many thanks! |

A rating of 3/5 (60%) indicates that that flight's [overall] performance is better than 60% of all flights. |
so my temp registration code has expired. How much would it take to issue a permanent registration code?
|
If you purchased a registration, you would need to fill in the registration form on the website including your system code and you'll then have a long-term code sent to you within a day or two.

I'm having problems using Awards/Oneworld. Usually I use BA, but I'm trying to use QF to search EI space. When I do so, however, it gives me "data source error [r], please provide us with a traveller ID 1032-6037" any idea of the problem?

Awards/BA-OneWorld not working for me for the last few days. Returns:
Data Source Error [RD-1]: "Please enter a departure" rb211. |

Yes I did purchase a registration. i filled in the registration and that's how i got the temporary registration code. I have been using it for 5 days now but haven't received the permanent code yet. Now the temp code has expired.

I have done the separate step 3 times now, once immediately when i got my temp code, again yesterday when the temp key ran out and again now.

Must be a transient issue with that Engine -- please clear MSIE Cookies and restart the KVS Tool.

Might be due to an update, I'm trying to find F award seats JFK-HKG, but they only show C/Y. If I search SFO/ORD - HKG, I see F seats being displayed. It doesn't even show FS0, the tool seems to not query it at all.

I've been using the usual method of JL/Oneworld.

Etihad Airways
Before I go and buy (donate) the KVS Tool, is there information available for Etihad Airways with this tool? I bought a round trip (for 1 adult) from IAD-COK for June19-July13 exactly a week ago for $1050 (including taxes) but now I am seeing almost $2200 for same dates. Just wondering if this tool will help determining if the fare code that I got is still available or should I look for alternatives.
Thanks! |

However, it is not quite clear what it is, exactly, that you are looking to do with your tickets. |
Hi,
started to use KVStool recently, but got stuck with a problem. When looking for fares, I can't select multiple airlines. I have tried with semicolon as described in baloon tip, but only get the first for whatever first airline code I enter. What am I doing wrong? I have a diamond account and using method Availability/FS. |

Only those Methods that display the [Airline(s):] label support that option.
"You can specify up to 3 airlines when using the [Availability/GTC], [Fares/FC] and [Timetable] Methods." A spin-off question, what is GTC and can I sign up somewhere? |

I bought 1 ticket last week for $1050. Trying to see if the "T" fares are still available for the dates I need in June/July for my wife and kids. I should have bought 4, but last week I was the only one who was planning to go (family reunion), but wife decided that she wants to go too. Current fare that comes up on Etihad.com is close to $2200 per person which is more than double what I paid for the same flight(s).

RTW fares
I used to be able to see RTW fares (Star alliance) on KVS.
Has that gone now? Only Fares/PSH is available and it doesn't offer RTW. Any likelihood that a more comprehensive fares tool will become available (including YQ surcharges too)? |
