OK, although the KVS tool said I had the latest update, I did download R4 from the website and installed it.
Problem resolved. |
Hi there,
I just downloaded and installed KVS Tool and have been playing around with it. However, the Availability/FS method does not seem to show any AA flights. I am searching for CLT - LGA on 2/7/2014. There are a handful of AA flights that day but none are showing up. Am I missing something? |

I have the latest update but am getting the same error message re "please enter departure" on BA award searches. The same dates work fine when searching OW awards. Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot KVS. That did it, though not every AA flight is showing up. Searching CLT - LGA using Availability/ETR for 3/21/2014, and only AA 3594 appears. Google Flights shows several flights for that day. Any idea?

Got it. Thanks KVS!

I'm still learning what KVS is telling me...
I'm looking for two business class award seats on 25 Feb 2014 from AUS to MAD. KVS shows an IB flight (IB 6250) with CS+ availability from JFK to MAD. However, the AA representative on the phone says that there is zero business class award availability on that flight. What am I reading incorrectly? |

Hello all,
I was wondering the following: I often see flucuating ticket prices. For instance: A KLM ticket that was 86 euros on monday afternoon, 109 on mondag evening and 88 on tuesday morning. I'm wondering if KVS could give me any useful information about these fluctuations (chances of price going down for instance). Edit: Just found the answer to my first questions: You found a trip and are unsure if you should purchase it now, put it on-hold, or wait for the price to go down. Click the [Fares] Tab and select the [Fares/PSH] Method. Double-click the fare to see the applicable Fare Rules. Note any pertinent restrictions (e.g. "must be ticketed at least 14 days prior to departure"). If your departure date is 15 days away, you will know that the price will definitely increase tomorrow, since you will no longer qualify for the current fare. You will also know the amount of the fare increase you would be facing, since you can see the next fare up. Click the [Availability] Tab and select the [Availability/FS] Method. Note Availability for the desired flights. If there are just a few seats left in the corresponding Booking Class, then you should put the booking on-hold ASAP to reserve the space. Edit2: In addition to that, I was wondering if Easyjet, Ryanair, Wizzair are supported? Thanks in advance! |

However, Schedules and Flight Status are supported for most LCCs. |
I've been loving KVS for quite awhile and have just downloaded Crossover so I can get my KVS love at home on my Mac. When do you think the bug will be fixed that generates this message, "The [Awards/StarAlliance]/[Awards/StarAlliance-7D] Methods cannot currently function under CrossOver Mac (Error Message: "Engine Error SF1-BSY/SF1-BKM" or "ANA"), due to a bug in the CrossOver/WINE system itself. Please use the [Awards/AC-StarAlliance] Method instead (Diamond level membership is required)."?

For immediate access to the Methods in question, you may wish to consider using one of the other Mac solutions instead: http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Mac |
Are *A Awards still available for search on KVS? Seems like the functionality was killed off on the "other" search engine. Other tool was a bit easier to read and had a lower learning curve, but now that I've learned a bit, seems that KVS is not too big an issue to learn ;)

I purchased the 12m diamond membership several days ago. However, I did not get any email after a temporary registration code. Could you please help me?

I am running into an error running a Skyteam Award search on CZ, LAX to CAN to SYD. I've tried individual segments and LAX to SYD and the majority of the time I receive an error "Datasource Error [RD] Engine Error/Date Out-of-Range", but I am searching dates in Feb 2014. Once in a great while the tool will return a result without error, but there seems to be no pattern to it. I am able to log into the AirFrance website and run the same search without any problems.

Looking at this in more detail, for days on which a calendar search on AF shows availability KVS will return the flights, but on days which their are no openings it returns an error instead of no flights.

For the SkyTeam (AF) method, I am seeing certain flights (mostly MU) where there is availability A-B-C but nothing shows when you search B-C itself. Availability/FS option shows zero. Is it safe to assume there is no availability on the flight in question or are they applying married segment logic to awards too?
Also seems to be a large discrepancy between the SkyTeam-AF and the Availability-FS options when it comes to MU flights in general. |

Also seems to be a large discrepancy between the SkyTeam-AF and the Availability-FS options when it comes to MU flights in general. We have updated the KVS Tool User Guide and [Availability/ETR] is now the preferred Method for MU Award Availability: http://Help.KVSTool.com/#MU |
Thank you :-:

hi everyone, sorry I think I got the most idiotic question in this tread, but I just can't figure out. I use KVS tool for a long time, but I was looking for couple fares and wanted to try to find using this fare(ITA)
It takes me to http://www.kvstool.com/ITAQueryBuilder/ on top it says Copy-and-Paste these values into the corresponding fields in the frame below. I put the dep. and arrival routing codes for example: WAS :: /F UA.WAS+SAO.KLX2G9LN for departure SAO :: /F UA.WAS+SAO.KLX2G9LN for arrival [KVS Availability Tool 7.3.3/Diamond - Fares/PSH/RU] IAD Washington Dulles Intl DC US [KIAD] SAO Sao Paulo Metro SP BR = GRU CGH VCP R/T 10 Jun 2014 | Economy-Low Carrier From To Fare Cur AdvanceP Min Max Fare Basis | Travel Period --------- ------ ---- -------- ---- -------- --- --- -------------------------- UA WAS SAO 1043 USD 21 Days 7 KLX2G9LN 11 Mar-18 Jul I keep getting No flights found. Am I doing something wrong or just all flights are sold out and ita tool won't show them. Again, sorry for stupid question, but I tried searching and couldn't find such stupid idea like I just had :) Thanks! |

BA-OneWorld Method and AB
I am having trouble getting the BA-OneWorld method (or any other method) to find AB awards - I get error messages like - enter valid departure date (which I did) or destination is not supported (e.g. IST, SAW and AYT both give this error).
Any suggestions? |

I'm having the same problem, but it looks like there's not much we can do. The site where KVS gets the info has changed some of its pages causing KVS to trip up. Without an update to the software, the Fares/PSH method won't work :(
ok.... i thought i was the only one. |
