I'm using KVS via Crossover on a mac so not sure if that has anything to do with it...

Have you tried [re-]installing Internet Explorer in CrossOver?

Unfortunately, none of the OneWorld Award Availability data sources currently supports KNO.

It usually means that Economy is available, however the oneworld search is not always accurate. Confirm by doing a BA search.

You're right, YS availability on AA doesn't show up when searching under Awards/BA-OneWorld.

Thanks for the explanation.

Confused

Struggling new user here.
I'm trying to do an open jaw and having no success - even tried two 1-ways and used the codes in ITA, no luck still.

Also, when I search for a return in the tool on specific dates, I get some great prices listed that rules suggest should be available, but can't find them in ITA.

Clearly doing something wrong as I currently feel like I've been conned out of membership fee yet everyone else seems to rave about this!

As mentioned at http://Help.KVSTool.com/#AA, the [Awards/JL-OneWorld] Method is currently the most authoritative for AA Award Availability, followed by [Awards/BA-OneWorld] and [Awards/OneWorld] (which the OP had used):

KVS: Hi, I'm in process of comparing different fare search tools out there to see which one is more accurate. Is there a way you can run a standard search of "I" class for EVA Air for early november, LAX to TPE?

MSIE cookies and Wine

Hi, using KVS in an Ubuntu VM with Wine. Running into the issue with DL searches where it shows an error: "Session Error--Please Enable MSIE Cookies". I tried the steps outlined somewhere on the KVS website--can't find it now--but I don't have the option to enable cookies, nor can I figure out how to install a suitable copy of IE with Wine. Any thoughts?

Also, doing an "Awards/Skyteam" search with parameters:
from: JFK/LAX/SFO
to: TPE
date: 8/9 Jan 2014

I keep getting an "Engine Error:Date Out-Of-Range" error. Searching online seems to make it look like an AM issue, but searching outside it's blackout dates doesn't yield anything better.

You need to use Wine V1.2.3 for that Method to work: http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Compatibility

Fares/FC ?

Just updated to v7.3.0.R1.

Is there any news on when (if?) the Fares/FC method will become available again? I used to use it a lot, and unfortunately neither Fares/PSH nor Fares/DRS is really suitable for my needs.

Thanks in advance!

We are still looking into this matter, but, unfortunately, there is no definitive ETA at this time.

Question about Availability Search Using Mobile Tool

I wonder if the availability tool (iPhone 4 running iOS6) only returns a limited number of results for a given day:

For example, searching Oct 5 for DL with the "via" flight blank

LAX to MSP does not show the 00:50 nonstop

and

ATL-LAX only slows flights departing up to 12:00 (no afternoon flights)

Also, is there any entry for "via" that will show only nonstop flights?

(None of this is an issue with the normal tool)

tomh009 Oct 2, 2013 2:37 am

The TPM function doesn't seem to be working (no data received) -- a temporary datasource problem, or an update is required? (Tested with the latest version.)

The Mobile Companion Availability Engine is currently experiencing issues with flights that depart earlier than ~06:00am (such as the flights in question). However, you can still access Timetables & Seats Maps for it.

To see later flights, leave the [Airline:] field empty.

The [Via] field can only be used for forcing connections, not avoiding them.

The [Awards/StarAlliance] Engine may require CAPTCHA if you exceed its velocity limits -- you may wish to use another Method.

TRRed Oct 3, 2013 6:03 pm

On Fare Methods, I really miss FC. I know it is being worked on and look forward to having it back. Having a fare total which includes taxes and fees is really helpful.

Using PSH, the results often seem to ignore what is chosen in the Class dropdown. Earlier today I was getting the same fares using Economy Low and Economy Flex, and then maybe only 15-20 fares. Economy All resulted in a lot more fares appearing. Running a search just now for a business fare on all carriers resulted in only 15 results, all but one for the same travel window and not a single C or D fare (JFK to FRA or CGN as an example).

Thanks. TRRed

It is a bug in Wine itself, so it is up to their developer community to fix it.
In the meantime, using Wine V1.2.3 is the easiest option.

There are no MPMs within North America.

damaxer91 Oct 9, 2013 6:37 am

When searching SYD/MEL to LHR on SQ awards, I generally see more options on KVS than on the Krisflyer website. Is KVS scraping the SQ website or is there some other option to see these?

KVS Tool supports 3 different sources for SQ Award Availability.

So just because the Awards/SQ method shows something as available doesn't mean that its bookable on the SQ site?

There appears to be an issue getting an accurate seat map for the World Traveller Plus cabin on BA's A380, e.g. the LAX-LHR BA268 on 19 Oct.

I have had someone check the seat map on BA's Manage My Booking and it displays 21 free seats. KVStool shows 9:

[KVS Availability Tool 7.2.4/Diamond - Seat Map: 19 Oct 2013/BA 268/LAX-LHR/EQV/W-Premium Economy]
Code:

EF has the correct map (and this apparently matches with BA.com)

http://i43.tinypic.com/qya8ue.png

FWIW, all the (aisle) seats which are available but "handicap accessible" (according to EF) are shown as unavailable on KVStool.
