Thanks.:D I did not even notice that there was a POS box using the tool all these years. Nevertheless, it would be a good idea to inform Sabre USA of the problems with their POS.

Award/StarAlliance returning @ symbols

Hi,

I'm getting @ symbols instead of / + - symbols for availability, and I don't know why. I've seen this happen sporadically in the past, but today, every query that I try returns FS@ CS@ YS@ on every line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's because ANA's Starnet link has been broken all day. Frustrating. But appears like it may return shortly.

Business Fares no longer display using DOT RES

When selecting most Business International fares using Fares/DOT RES (both IT & UK as US does not work anymore) only coach fares display. If you select First, First will display. Try NRT- JFK, or BOS-NRT or TPE- LAX, or LHR-BOS (AA, BA or CX or ALL). They all display Coach only when selecting Business.
And Fares/TVN remains semi useless if trying to display Business and First (and all coach) if the list is too long.

Both of the above have been confirmed to be bugs in the DotRes engine.

Access to a brand new fares engine is in the works...

I don't think that is it, because about one in ten attempts does result in valid Star Alliance Award availability information. The rest of the time, it is the dreaded '@' result. I have been observing this behaviour for a couple of days now.

Still frustrating...

I agree EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. I started my computer this morning and did 5 searches got the right response showing "+" or "-" results however after that all my results are showing "@".........

Yesterday the whole day it showed "@"........

Sent an email to KVS and response was something on ANA is broken and I should keep trying.

Why would it start by showing accurate +/- results and then after a few searches only shows
"@" is beyond me. It looks like it's something else.

VERY VERY FRUSTRATING!

This is not KVS fault. Starnet is down which is the software that runs ANA tool and shows *A availability. Until this comes back up we will keep on getting @.

I know its not KVS's fault, it shouldnt be as they dont control Starnet. All I am saying and expressing is my frustration on getting "@". I have a trip coming up in less than 4 days and need to make a few changes on the routing hence the reason.

When looking up *A award availability I keep getting "Resolve Host" error message.

A dialogue box pops up that states:

Error requesting data:

Resolving Host >>>>>>>>>> [14] Name not resolved [12007]

I can access Apollo ITN, WSpan ITN, Sabre etc however not the *A award availability.

Help will be much appreciated!

Cheers.

Thanks for your quick feedback. I tried again after your note and keep getting the same error message. I then shut down the computer and powered back again get the same error.

Funning thing is it worked about an hour ago for me and then just this error started coming.

Not sure what the solution is other than keep my fingers crossed and hope it will start working again soon.

Quick question - does your POS show JP-ANA?

ual744777sta Mar 18, 2009 12:23 am

Did you try updating the KVS tool?

Regardig the POS. The POS is default as the ANA tool is based on Japan (JP). It's probably in some large room in Tokyo.

KVS Tool and Promo

Does the KVS Tool distingusish between FB promo award availability and other award availability? Can any award seat it shows as available be booked on a promo award (if it is advertised) or are promo awards only available in limited number as compared to other award bookings?

Not sure what the promo awards are, but the SkyTeam award inventory is based on what nwa.com shows as available, for the most part.

From http://FAQ.KVSTool.com:
# Q: I have just installed an updated version of the KVS Tool; why am I being prompted to reboot Windows?
# A: You should always exit the KVS Tool before running the Setup/Update. Should you forget to do so, the Setup will need to reboot Windows in order to complete the update.

Using Galileo/PSH I see these fares for LHR-PER on 1 AUG 09 on NZ

but these fares do not show up on airnewzealand.co.uk, or on itasoft, or using any of the other fare methods in KVS

so, do they exist?

What date are you searching for the return in your ITA/nz.com searches? The new method shows all fares based on that particular outbound date, but the return date will dictate what actual fare you get. It is a hybrid between the DotRes and the TVN methods in that regard.

Yes, these fares exist, but don't show-up by default on ITA due to an unusual routing.
