Ironic, considering the sources of the data...

is anyone getting an error message using the mobile tool?

"Reservation system error [I1]. Please try again later."

The [Availability] Engine in the Mobile Companion is temporarily unavailable.

Me think that end of KVSTool is coming fast... Glad I did not renew when I was due in November 2014...

lewinr Jan 22, 2015 3:30 am

I know that some people will be happy to see that happen, but I and many others will be very unhappy.

Anyway, I hope everybody can refrain from comments on this to avoid turning this topic into a big mess again like the last topic. Let's please stick to the focus of discussion on how we can use the functionality the tool offers (whatever that is) and Q&A.

The thread was re-opened ("rebooted") by the moderator team to allow us to discuss "anything related to the KVS Availability Tool".

A happier outcome would be a rebooted KVS program that does what it used to do in a way that is sustainable, dependable and legal. This thread and earlier discussions make it clear that there's a market. The question is whether the developer is interested in rising to that challenge.

Exactly.

As much as I hate the ExpertFlyer interface, I am now subscribing to ExpertFlyer and will not renew my KVS subscription when it expires.

Why can't KVS make an arrangement with whoever and obtain LEGAL data. Hell, just charge us a bit more if needed. I much prefer the KVS interface to ExpertFlyer's.

Yes, exactly.

I did not stop subscription because a hate. I stopped it because it stopped providing what I wanted.

No, I don't think developer is interested in the challenge. The developer is interested in milking as much money from what he currently has as possible.

First, such access is expensive. Second, I doubt anyone who has ever read KVSTOOL threads here and on MilePoint would be willing to enter into contract with company who has been robbing others for so long...

Having just renewed, even with all the recent issues, mainly for availability's sake - its very annoying to see that broken.

OptionsCLE Jan 22, 2015 3:56 pm

I also just renewed for a year at the Diamond level, primarily for availability. Is the consensus that it's gone for good?

We are still looking into the MC [Availability] Engine issue and will post an update on the KVS Tool Homepage as soon as more information becomes available.

davetravels Jan 22, 2015 6:18 pm

I see that I'm (again) not the only one having issues with MC all day - also, having just renewed and upgraded from the $20 membership to the $75. :(

Any update? This has been very frustrating over the past couple of days...

Didn't you read the post #171 :D. It is not "transient server error" anymore... Perhaps whoever provides source for the data finally realised that it is then being "re-sold" further, perhaps without source's knowledge...

epigram Jan 22, 2015 6:36 pm

i hope availability returns soon! that was the main unique thing i was using it for. the interface for SQ/CX awards just makes it more convenient to search compared to navigating the SQ/CX sites.
