May I ask the reason for discontinuing flight availability with the regular version of the KVS tool?
What is now the best way to look up flight availability? thanks I believe there is still availability through the KVS mobile companion. However, that is limited to just the highest tier of "contributors", and suffers from not being able to look up flights before some time in the morning (I want to say 8am, but don't remember for sure). KVS has not answered questions about any forthcoming sources, nor why the mobile companion source isn't available in the desktop app. |

I love the KVS Tool and have found it very useful over the years. I don't have a current subscription but would like to renew it next time I have a lot of flight planning to do.

I'm torn - I like it as I can search CX, LH, and others that don't show up with EF (right?)

But I'm lazy, and I like the KVS app...just easier to click a button vs. re-doing searches w/EF.

Any news on when Delta award availability will be available again? That's one of the features I used the most. (And Skyteam award availability doesn't really help as that shows only low mileage -- and everyone know how great Delta is at having low award availability.)

Is the "elite" button gone though? I'm only getting the "I'm not flying on this itinerary" results instead of the enhanced availability... |

OK I'm confused in more ways than one, but this looks like the place to find help.
A few years ago I subscribed to KVS briefly, Diamond level. My main objective was to find biz class award flights between RDU and OTP using Skymiles. The DL site only searched DL/KL/AF, and my experience was that it was often necessary to use RO and calling DL was very frustrating. After a hiatus of booking international award trips, I again had a need. Specifically I was looking to go PHL-BOM around New Year's, PHL-FCO next spring, and possibly IAD-OTP. I plunked down the $45 for a 6-month diamond subscription. What puzzled me was that in doing the search for BOM, I found availability on the DL website, but not on KVS. It took some work, I had to play with it segment by segment, but I eventually found it. In fact, the actual routing involves 3 of the 4 segments on VS, but when I do the search on KVS I get no VS flights - only DL/KL/AF. I know there have been issues with DL. I guess I'm wondering if someone can tell me what's going on. It's hard to imagine that DL.dumb could actually be more useful than KVS, but is that the case? Assuming I am only interested in using KVS for Skypeso availability, have I wasted my money? |
Does anyone know in which country KVS is based? It/he seems to have gone to great lengths to make itself/himself anonymous...
|
I believe he is in New York. What difference does that make?

Good to have the KVS thread back. I've used this tool for many years and it's been particularly useful for skyteam flights because the Delta award search engine has been so poor, it also makes it easy to search a large variety of airlines quickly without jumping between websites. I consider the yearly cost to be very reasonable even if I only book one trip. I trust KVS info much more than Delta.com

Please always consult the KVS Tool User Guide to ensure that you are selecting the correct Method(s) for the Airline(s) you are trying to search: http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Classes

Honestly, wish I hadn't. Trying to figure out how to make the tool show RTW fares - even one at a time - is baffling. :( |
