Being a KVS Tool Member since 2006, you must have, surely, witnessed the evolution of the Tool. Numerous new Methods and Functions were added, while some Engines ceased to exist, together with their corresponding Methods.

We always strive to add the relevant functionality, requested by our Members, and will make the relevant announcements, once it is appropriate to do so. However, we are unable to speculate about something that is largely outside of our control.

Reposting this as it probably got buried in other discussion: Would love to get help from KVS or some other knowledgeable users....

I have some AA miles, and I am trying to check availability for DFW-AUH-AMD OR DFW-DOH-AMD for FEB 07 in Economy Class for any oneWorld affiliated carrier (including Etihad and Qatar). I tried booking via AA using award miles, but aa.com refused to book to AMD becuase they don't serve that destination. I want to check availibility of tickets with KVS via other oneworld carries such as Qatar or Etihad (technically not full oneworld member). can anyone help me to check the availability please?

The tool is a lot less comprehensive than before, and weaker. The Fares section is now pointless, and without an integrated availability function...what's the point? The canned answer is not really cool.

The fact that I have to use the mobile availability function (with its limitations).

I didn't contribute to the previous thread, I've made no qualitative statements on it, and the moderators closed it. The moderators also added the wiki, so I'm not going to go into detail on that, other than to comment that there must have been some dialogue between you and the moderators.

Yes, it has been a great tool up until a few weeks ago (and on that basis I'd be happy to renew). You can't deny that functionality has decreased, and the opacity around the whole business is not really helping your case. I do think it's time to fess up a little more.

Well, if you're only going to be using KVS for this one specific trip, I'm not sure that I'd invest the $20 necessary for buying/"donating"/"contributing" the tool. If I were in your shoes, I'd probably just go with what SFOPhD recommended in his post from the Etihad forum--use the Etihad site for EY, and get a BA account for searching QR. BA also covers IB.

That said, double check on the AA requirements for getting to India--generally you can't connect in a different zone than your origin or destination, though there are a couple exceptions. I'd look at the MileSaver thread in the AA forum. Good luck!

The Availability function in the KVS Tool Mobile Companion is equivalent to the former [Availability/FS] Method in the main KVS Tool Application.

Some functionality has increased, some decreased (as a result of external changes that are outside of our control), some transferred to the Mobile Companion.

We fully appreciate the impact that these changes, both positive and negative, may have on our Members and are always looking for ways of minimizing the latter.

Does KVS offer any kind of a trial period or testing?

Be careful, as the functionality you are expecting to use c;)uld vanish at any time without notice.

Yea, not worth the $20 just to get a flavor of the software when I can already tell the basic usability. Mainly was just curious to try a couple different scenarios as a curiosity.

There are a few limitations to EF that drive me nuts, but I can work around them well enough given the cost.

This has now been corrected -- please download KVS Tool V7.7.4

Seems that the JL search isn't working quite right. Given the inputs HKG-BOS on 2 May 2015 on CX, I get:

Data Source Error [RD-3]:
"Unsupported Route/Invalid Cabin Class"
If I manually search via the JL website, the search works and shows no availability. The JL site requires a return date, which KVS doesn't have an obvious input for.

tl;dr: appears that KVS doesn't correctly pass data to the JL site, or can't correctly interpret the returned data

Availability tab missing?

Sorry for the rookie question: I recently registered for the KVS Tool and installed on my PC.

But - I don't see the "Availability" tab, and cannot find fare availability info [Screenshot]

I can see the seatmap and make roughly sense of the load, but I'd like to use the regular fare availability tool too.

Thanks!
