Honestly, wish I hadn't. Trying to figure out how to make the tool show RTW fares - even one at a time - is baffling. :(

Well, per the membership levels chart, RTW fares aren't part of the platinum level to begin with. Might be part of your problem.

My post was faulty there, I meant diamond. Sorry.

The question was vague as to an employee or the business entity. To rephrase for more clarity, what country and city is the business entity, for which the FT user "KVS" is a representative, located?

The charge to my credit card shows Santa Barbara, CA. My understanding was that the moderator opened this new thread so as to focus on questions as to how to use KVS and not resurrect the types of questions/comments that were in the old thread.

That's the location of the payment processing company, FastSpring.
Knowing that tells us nothing about the location (or form) of the business entity that sells the KVS 'Tool' app.

If the fares and availability become legitimately available again, I would be glad

Same here. I have been a happy KVS user for many years. It looks like that I would have to use EF going forward until fares and availability become legitimately available again on KVS.

My subscription expires in about 2 months and am not bothering to request for a pro rata refund.

Have you consulted the RTW Fares section of the KVS Tool User Guide?:

Under the Fares tab, I only see Fares/GOL but no Fares/PSH sub-tab.

Where should I be looking?

This has now been corrected to [Fares/GOL] -- please refresh the page.

KVS Tool Members can continue to access Regular Flight Availability via the KVS Tool Mobile Companion.

Is there a way to get a refund? If I wanted to use a website, I'd use EF. I specifically subscribe to KVS based solely on it NOT being a website. But availability is 90% of my daily use, so it's now completely useless to me.

Basic questions - forgive my naivete. I'm trying to figure out if the value of this tool for my particular needs is greater than the cost (and at what level I would need to "contribute" should I chose to do so).

I used to use EF every couple of weeks to look at fare bucket availability for DL flights in the continental US. Not partner availability, but DL marketed flights. I'm sad that it's gone. Does this tool offer that sort of visibility? Like Y9 B9 M9 Q4 H0.... type of stuff? I would use this info to find SDC opportunities, respond to IROPS, etc.

Probably once or twice a year it might be nice to use a tool like this to look for DL awards (again primarily in the continental US), but I was never able to use EF for that. Is that something that is available in the KVS Tool?

I have, yes. If I understand rightly, it is:
1) Find a different fare
2) Navigate through some menus
3) Type in a set of city codes and a particular RTW fare code

I still haven't figured out how to see the set of possible RTW fare codes from a particular city - which is why I bought the tool.

Two parts to this:

Regular availability: KVS will do what you're asking for, with a couple notes. One, availability is currently only available through the mobile companion (and not available on the desktop app), which requires the highest tier of "membership"/"contribution"/whatever. It is unclear why this availability source is not available on the desktop app, nor has there been any info about getting a source in the app.

The second note on regular availability is that for unspecified reasons, flights in the morning (before a certain hour, I forget which) will not be shown.

As for award availability, just to be clear, KVS doesn't provide a new source of data, it just formats it differently, as it scrapes various websites. Any result you get in KVS for an award search, you can get by finding the appropriate airline website. That said, KVS does provide handy tools like saving searches and multi-day searching (although I couldn't ever seem to get that to work).

tl;dr: yes, and kind of (though both answers have caveats)

You can't search for a listing of RTW fares with KVS anymore. Currently that can only be done with ExpertFlyer.

Sigh.

Back to EF I go then. I just wish it wasn't so rapid to sign out - when using a slow connection it's a real pain (which is what made KVS Tool so appealing).
