expertflyer has become unusable when that issue continues!

The "auto-refresh" fix released yesterday should have addressed this as well. If that is not the case, please let us know and we'll go back to the drawing board. But agreed, it's not an ideal experience. The "rate-limit exceed" is meant to manage abuse of our systems and should only be shown on extreme cases.

I keep the browser open in developer mode. I can see that there is a regular call "fare-information" followed by "access token".
Every roundtrip to the server (also searching for airports, airlines, etc.) triggers a call to "fare-information".

If you have a rate limit to the "fare-information" script/page - the rate limit should be raised.

That's the network access log for about 2 minutes on the page (after initial input of data for fare search)

and this is the access log for one fare search - imho there are much too many "result" queries - it goes crazy when I scroll the page. while scrolling it tries to call the same script again over and over ...

and there are 15 more of these screenshots - for ONE fare query - and then the page turns black and you get the message "rate limit exceeded"

Flight availability searches for Delta are broken again - everything returning a red banner with "No results found. Try adjusting your search details and search again."

And now after trying about 4-5 searches, I get a white page with just the following text and can't do anything on the website:

I just search for some fare routings in the published fares, and all of a sudden the screen went empty and the URL changed to
but I was then just looking at an empty page and no login showed up.

Are you guys not testing your stuff at all?
Any chance of rolling the new platform back to the old one until the basic stuff got fixed or getting the old platform back at wwwold.expertflyer.com or alike?

EDIT: it also redirected my already open tabs to that nonsense login website and I lost all of my (re)search results. *slowclap*

Expertflyer currently has two major issues with functionality:
  • Website internally breaks functionality for everything after a short time/limited number of searches - some bad coding or refresh hits a rate limiter and makes it unusable for anything for a while
  • Delta searches are entirely broken and return an error. This is going on 4 days now

yes. the black screen comes when expertflyr thinks you exceeded your quota. but you didn't. they have hundreds of queries running in the background (especially when you start scrolling. these hundreds of queries eat up your quota and then from one moment to another expertflyer goes black for one or two minutes with no possibilities to do anything besides watch the start page.

Hi All - Quick Update:
  • We are working on the issue affecting Delta availability and expect to have a temporary fix in place by tomorrow.
  • Regarding the "rate limit exceeded" errors some of you are reporting, our team is aware and looking into this.
We will keep this thread updated with our progress. Rest assured, we are aware of both issues and our team is working on them.

Is this an issue on EF side or with Delta restricting things? Same issue happened back in Sept where all Delta info was unavailable for a few days.

Hi Rylan - This has to do with one of our data providers, not Delta blocking us.

Update: We pushed a workaround: specify Delta as the airline and you'll see results. Multi-airline searches are still broken, working on permanent fix.
We also pushed a fix for the rate limit error that was hitting normal usage. You shouldn't see that anymore.

EFV: Thank you for the workaround. Please be aware, if you are not already, when searching exclusively DL, it ignores the toggles for "Exclude Codeshares" and "Direct/non-stop only". The search results give all possible flights including connections and codeshares regardless of these settings. An example is JFK-CDG on a June date specifying Airline = DL only, exclude codeshares and direct/n/s.

Currently, if I don't select DL as an airline I am getting DL inventory and if I do, then it shows all zeroes.
