"We've noticed some unusual activity on your account. Please contact us at [email protected] if you believe this is an error."

while searching for AA SWU inventory. Happen yesterday . This a.m. is was back to normal and then the same thing after quite a few searches. Is there now a limit , problems with BOTS , etc.? Lets hope yall have not tweaked a great product the wrong way.

Seems a new rule has been implemented that limits fairly constant bursts of activity or more than X queries per period, and needs better configuration/tuning. Email sent but its the "weekend", which means my RTW booking (why I have EF) will now be "blind - if I only wanted the ability to do 250 searches I would get the basic package - I reckon I was kicked off after about 100 searches over a 5 hour period, with a break in the middle.

Edit: Sleeping on it, and it has been fixed overnight (Asian timezone), no response received.. perhaps a rate limit per 12 hours or something similar.
Edit2: And then stopped working again after another ~4 hours of intermittent usage
Edit3: And then started working again after another overnight stop

But this is frustrating that there is now an undeclared rate limit as I basically pay for the annual subscription (that becomes increasingly less useful due to the delta between what EF shows and what AA RTW desk sees) for a few times a year getting a RTW booking arranged. In this case I had to book "blind" for certain legs, and when you have the inevitable "I can't see that availability". So yes, on a few days a year I am probably using 100+ queries (of my "unlimited" premium queries), but the rest of the year I pop in randomly to check on a flight or seat map (that has stopped working more and more). And perhaps it was also triggered as I look on my mobile (cell) and home, but all from the same country. Hopefully it is rolled back promptly or fixed, as the concept of blocking bots is a fair aim, but has been bungled in the implementation.

Dave_C - Sending you a PM for more details on this.

Just noticed another bug. Not sure if it's already mentioned. Couldn't find it doing a quick search.

When doing a Flight Availability search with Return Date (round-trip), and entering two Connecting Airports, the inbound flight results will show the Connecting Airports in the same order as the outbound flights.

For example, outbound routing options will show (as expected): Departing Airport - Connecting Airport 1 - Connecting Airport 2 - Arriving Airport.

However, inbound routing options will show: Arriving Airport - Connecting Airport 1 - Connecting Airport 2 - Departing Airport. In this case, the Connecting Airports should be reversed.

Almost certain the older version was able to do this properly.

Some time early yesterday 9/29 on the website - noticed that the 'Saved Queries' pulldown menu for Flight Availability became and continues to be a jumbled mess.
It used to be alphabetical but now it is just random entries for my saved availablity searches which makes it difficult and annoying to use since I have to hunt through the list for the right flight now instead of it being in order.

Hey Rylan - We'll fix this. They should be ordered alphabetically. We should be able to get this out before EOW.

Great find. This hadn't been reported before. We will fix it.

I am also having this issue - this is extremely frustrating.
Moreover, the majority of the saved queries don't show up at all on the drop down menu or on the app unless "view all saved queries" is selected.

Iberia award

Will you offer IB award availability soon!?

Hi EF Voice,

When creating a flight alert, and specifically attempting to create an award & upgrade availability alert, I'm allowed to type an Alert Name that exceeds 32 characters. However, when trying to save the alert, I'm presented with an error, "Alert name cannot exceed 32 characters". It would be more user-friendly to either allow longer alert names or to prevent 33+ characters from being entered into the field in the first place. The latter behavior is the way the alert creation screen behaved prior to the overhaul.

Does Expertflyer actually work for Seat Alerts?

I just cancelled my paid EF account - I've been paying the $4.99 a month so I could get seat alerts (I had used up my free ones)- primarily on United, but also CX. Never did any of the alerts work. Yet, out of the blue, I would go check, and sure enough, there was the seat I wanted. Originally I thought it was just my incredible timing and that EF had not scanned that flight - but it kept happening over and over... And last night, when 9A was clearly open on LAX-MEL for a period of days, only then did I realize that the seat alerts function simply didn't work.

Anyone else have this type of issue? Maybe I'm just special ;)

I received 2 seat alerts yesterday for two different flights (exit row) on AA without issue

The system seems to have a problem distinguishing between IST and ISL. This is definitely a flight from IST, and I got to this flight status page by searching IST to HAN, and it returned this result. No idea why it says it's departing from ISL.
