To the extent the historical fares function now shows a calendar that allows you to pick a ticketing date in the past, it is not working correctly. I just did a search using ticket date of Jan 27 and it displays some fares, but if you click on those fares and check out the fare routing rules you will see dates like this "CREATED 17JUL25" At least for that search, there are no historical fares being shown, only current fares like this one that obviously did not exist back on Jan 27, 2025.
I have been involved in IT my whole life, I have been a paid EF subscriber for many years. I have never complained about the tool that I can recall and have generally been happy with it and come to rely on its functionality to book things, save money, etc. I came to use EF after KVS became unreliable. This latest roll out is inexcusable, it is laughable and the notion that subscribers should deal with key pieces of functionality missing is unacceptable. I'm willing to cut some slack given what is obviously not a great situation -- and the fact that they are clearly actively involved to make fixes based on constructive bug reports in this thread. |
Seat maps for a Qantas flight two months out aren't correct. All seats occupied (not blocked) but availability shows as J9 plus plus. Same in PE.

Can’t perform seat map queries on QF nor see blocked seats
ExpertFlyer Voice I also can’t see QF seat maps over the coming months, and the ones that do come up don’t show preferred seating availability or blocked seats. Can you please advise if you’re still working on this to restore? Thank you

I'm jumping in to agree with both WannaTheater and some dude
In my career as a consulting software professional, I have had to take on the support and redesign of 3 or 4 large online application. They all were in similar situations as what the current support team is working with: obsolete technology, lack of documentation (or, even worse, misleading documentation), badly written code, poorly maintained code, etc. Unless you have done it, you have no idea what hard work it is. Personally I saw several improvement with the last update. But it is obvious this was the first of at least 2 or 3 update cycles that will be required to straighten out the product. And that does not include any thought by the current support team as to their desired end state product. As some dude said, I am not affiliated with EF in any way, outside of being a subscriber. All I am trying to do is to bring out what I feel is the reality of the current situation. The recent update did not fix many major bugs in the product. And if anyone finds it unacceptable, they need to find another product that satisfies their requirements. Or cancel their subscription. As consumers, this is the only leverage we have. |
Agreed with cheltzel - there is likely to be a few update cycles just to get things fully back to equivalent functionality of the old site without adding any new features. I'd also say that there are some clear improvements to me as well - the site is far faster, and i've also seen a few bugs that were broken on the old site fixed with the new site [likely just as a matter of using modern frameworks instead of YUI].
With all that said, it's also obvious that the way they are updating things will make it much easier to add new features in the future, if they choose to do so. |
Also: ExpertyFlyer Voice ...
Your signature links to Blog.expertflyer.com which redirects to a 404 on 404 Error ... It might be a good idea to actually get some simple site up which has a list of known issues and a changelog showing when issues have been resolved ... or just update your signature to remove that broken link ;) |
I believe most of the issues I have with the newish UI have already been raised. To me it seems like you tried to keep the same UI rather than implementing the key user stories in an efficient work flow. Clicking on 'flight availability' and then navigating by keyboard no longer works. I have to press tab 30+ times to get even close to the origin airport field. My 'recent alert' is from 2007. The three recent searches are a mix of search from last month (not the last ones) and one from 2016. Fonts and rendering on Firefox has numerous issues.
You seem to have a newer technology stack now. Why not build a modern UI and reconsider some of the typical work flows? I'd rather see you drop 90% of the 'content' on the site and just have a limited but effective features implemented. |
Airport Delays Missing?
I noticed in the recent web launch the airport delay section missing from the travel information section. Is this temporary/located somewhere else that I can’t seem to find or gone?
|
On the mobile site, please move the saved queries button to near the top. On travel day when on mobile, that’s what I (and most users probably) reach for the most often. Thank you.

There are other websites out there that have GDS data with more modern UI's - and if that's what you want, you could have switched to that ages ago... Personally, the main reasons I use EF is to see raw GDS availability for both revenue and award/upgrade buckets, seat maps, minimum connection time, timatic, fare code details, and detailed flight status with comments... If yuo want a slick UI that does accomplish a lot to help you on award bookings - but with limited information outside of their prescribed flows ... use Roame... If you want a powerful system for finding availability of revenue buckets and fare codes ... use ITAMatrix - its free, and far more powerful. Expertflyer needs to focus on making their niche product as best as it can be, and not try to be something that other products already do. |
