Anyone order one? I started at 6:30AM and was not successful until 4:15PM. Frustrating with all the time outs, session expired, errors, etc. Ordered via the Apple site. Supposedly my 32GB is arriving June 24th. Not looking forward to activation. May try to do it at 1AM or some late night hour.

You should have gone to B&M instead. I walked across the street to my local AT&T store at 5pm yesterday, they had a long list but a lot of people bailed so I only waited 15 min. Placed my order for 2 black 32G iPhones. The staff was very nice but had to take the order manually as the systems were down. Received the email confirm today. No offense, but I really don't get the people who are camping out overnight or spending hours getting frustrated online - particularly people who already have one. Everybody will get their new iPhone soon enough.

Apparently, Apple/AT&T processed >600,000 preorders yesterday, according to an article I saw in the Trib this morning.

Yup. Redundant supply chains for me;-) I fly the 30th so I needed it at launch.
Banged at the Apple Online Store from 1AM PDT until 4AM PDT. Dunno 100 times?
Took a break and hit the AT&T Small Biz call center when they opened at 7am EDT. 1 X 32GB Done.
Wasn't willing to trust AT& T though.
Banged on Apple for another hour and went to bed at 5AM.
Up at 9, cooked breakfast, banged a bit more then checked my cart. Cart would even load the previous night but I had 2 phones in there.
Deleted one and checked out at 10AM.
I really needed to make this happen and I gave it an A- effort. I should be set.
The bummer is that my iPad also delivers the 24th. I was hoping to get that ASAP when I ordered it on the 6th to lock in the unlimited data. Figured it would keep from going stir crazy waiting on the iPhone 4. Guess not.
Cheers, Scho

Both my orders using the iphone app went through in about five seconds, got the email confirmations and everything. The websites of apple and at&t were a nightmare.

According to the Taiwanese rumor rag, Pegatron (ASUStek's OEM manufacturing arm) will begin shipping a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 from its Shanghai plants to Apple in Q4.

Well for travel enthusiasts, the CDMA phone doesn't make as much sense.
Especially if you can jailbreak and unlock the GSM/HSDPA model to use with SIMs overseas.
Verizon may also not offer iPhone plans for as low as $60 a month either.
But if it gets more people off AT&T, then the network situation may improve for those who stay with AT&T.

What is the current iPhone status in Japan and Korea? Is this device, if it exists, for those markets?

Are there any indications that an un-jailbroken 3GS phone will be able to purchase "tethering rights"?
Or, that a 3GS phone will be able to upgrade to OS4 and thereby get folders and multi-tasking?
I have avoided jailbreaking my phone because I like the apparent security of using apps that have been vetted by Apple, and I'm not sure if a jailbroke phone can still obtain and use apps from the App Store.

Wanting to use only Apple-vetted apps is your choice and you are welcome to it. But I am also welcome to unlock my computer and run any application I wish on it.

Preordered my iPhone 4 on the first day easily at an ATT store in DC on my pedestrian commute to work! It was great. There was no line yet a guard at the door only allowing iPhone buyers into the store.
