I think the features rolling out in the new iPhone 4 are nice. A few are quite beneficial to me so I'll give it a try. If I don't like it then in eBay it goes!

Well, gizmodo did steal his thunder. And they weren't invited to the event.

Nice device. Like the new screen, thinner profile, longer battery life.

Don't care about iBook, iMovie or iAds.

Not sure why they didn't release a 64gb model.

Ready for iOS 4 to be released in the iPad.

I'm curious and not sure if any of you have previous experience; but anyone know if the pre-orders ship on the release date or they arrive on the release date? I fly out on the 27th of June and the phone releases on the 24th. Wonder if I will have it in time or not.

Multiple exchange accounts is a big one for me. My company is on Exchange and so is my family and consulting business. This had been a challenge for me.

Small size is nice, will fit well in my coat-breast pocket.

Expanded video capability will be nice for posting brief updates and videos while traveling.

Better battery is big for me. When I travel I'm dead. In the office I charge it over night and again around 3pm to last the night.

And a last thought, I hope they include multiple email signatures or sync'd to the sending account. That would be quite helpful.

It's nice and pretty and everything I expect from Apple - but I will probably wait for a Froyo HTC knockoff of the iPhone.

coolest part of the whole WWDC-story ^
They really weren't able to get any permission to join this event.
But I also didn't like the way how they tried to make all journalist shutting down their pc's. Such a kindergarden...

My understanding was that the shutdown command was not because of secrecy. It was because there were so many active devices, they overwhelmed the wifi channel space and killed his demos.

Not sure (other than shutting everyone down) if there is a way to protect wifi channel space for such a crowded hall. Maybe next time reserving a specific channel for Steve?

Was there a successful version (copy) of the 3GS?

That was a riot. When I do webinars in the future and face problems I'll just remind my boss that one of the greatest tech companies in the world also faces similar problems.

Simple. One network for Steve, another for everyone else. I"m surprised they didn't do it.

Impressed isn't really the most accurate description of my take from the announcement today, but The longer battery life and new features mean I'll be buying the new phone...
My contract with Sprint was up a year ago. Have been waiting for another carrier to get the iPhone, but since that is not going to happen anytime soon it is time to pull the trigger and replace our flip phones.

Hate to leave sprint and my 5pm nights, but the EVO (and jacked up data fees) just doesn't cut it for me.

Really happy to see the iPhone4 has better batter life, better photo/video, multitasking and the netflix will also be a big plus assuming I can upload through sync and don't have to stream it.

Oh, and one used iPod touch for sale

For the better display (which should make less work for my eyes) alone I will probably buy one of these. But I don't know when it will reach France and how much Orange will charge.

It's not the network, it's the channels. There's a finite number of channels (8?) on wifi that can be used. Think of a CB - you sharing those channels with everyone else. If someone is on your channel, you need to share - which wifi does, but you limit the amount of data you can squeeze down the pipe.

Steve said there were 570 active networks in the room. Apparently many people were running mifi and other such devices.

Seems like a great new phone, btw
