so I can do a last minute change at the moment from SIN F-J-J to a UA F (747) - TG F (a380) - TG J....
total travel time is the same, but I guess i'd get more time in F on the latter (granted not sure how to rate UA F vs. SIN J)
Would you go for TG A380 Experience or stick to SQ only?

quick review of A380 departing FRA
Travelled A380 business class ex FRA to BKK this week. Great service, with the plane looking fantastic.
Some points, ex FRA the C/F boarding needs improvement. As 60+ pax are in C, the combined 'first/biz' queue line becomes very long. A 15-20 min queue to board in F is not cool!
For seat selection, as I am tall, so as has been reported the new biz seats are very narrow. In fact on the A380 I felt more constricted than the old Thai J seats. This is a real pity and my only real concern once on board.
The IFE screen is much larger, the food had excellent presentation (better than the next leg in a 747 C), and Champagne refills were at a steady flow.
One final note, beware if you are in a so called 'honeymoon' seat pair (these are in the centre at alternating row numbers). Make sure you are willing to share some personal space, as your lower half invariably infiltrate your neighbour's space. This is fine if you are on honeymoon but if travelling solo it may be a high stakes gamble...

I posted a litle mini TR earlier in this tread. I was left wondering a little on arrival in BKK when i saw the two lower deck airbridges connect but the too deck one took a while. Somehow when I got off there were no other passengers yet so assume they were held back till F disembarked.

Can confirm escort from lounge to aircraft door with personal assistant at FRA. The C passengers who were crowding the gate were told quite forcefully to make room for the F passengers and created space for us to walk through We weren't the most popular people at boarding.

Thats ok, F passengers do not queue in FRA, they are escorted by premium services from the lounge to their seat never making it to the general boarding area (on foot, not by buggy as in BKK).

If I am in the FCL (access due to incoming LH leg in F), will they come and get me there?
I am currently booked on the 777, but am checking frequently to see if space opens up on the earlier 380 flight. I would much rather have 12 hours in Bangkok instead of 12 hours in Frankfurt.

The times when I have arrived with LH C and connected onto TG F they've either been waiting at the gate of the arriving aircraft, or at the central bus arrival area when arriving at a remote stand. The same person takes you to the lounge and collects you, so if you don't run away, they'll find you.

Thanks for clearing that up. One of the gate attendants at FRA was very vocal on insisting only "First and Business" queue in our line, so I'd thought that no special provisions had been made for F... It's good to hear that they are taking care of F

Flying in F in January, BKK-FRA. Is it necessary to select the meal ahead of time? And if so, I'm not sure I know how to access my booking on the Thai web site, as it is booked through UA, and not at Thai site.

No need to select your meal ahead of time. There will be multiple choices for multiple courses once you board from the regular menu.
