Have just been told 2 different stories by different customer reps for a possible BKK-FRA reservation : 1) Y on the upper deck is not always open and cannot pre-mark those seats; 2) there is no Y on the upper deck. Anyone experienced this problem? From the seat map there clearly is Y upstairs.

2) also sounds right - some TG call centre staff have no idea, and simply don't care. I called to enquire about F cabin accommodation for my folks BKK-SIN (travelling on an F ticket but flying biz class BKK-SIN because sold as a two class) to be told by the call centre (not in Thailand - english speaking) that there is First class on the A380 on that flight and if your parents want to fly that then they should pay for it (words to that effect). On check-in my parents were told they could not be seated in the F cabin because 'First class is downstairs and you are sitting upstairs'.
So there's lots of misinformation amongst ground staff out there.
