First off, on the A333, any difference between 4A, 4K, and 5K?

Next, this sounds crazy, but... My flight doesn't have F service, so rows 1 and 2 are C seats. I was told that 2D may be available. I figured I'd take it, but another friend told me that since I love window seats, I might as well stay with 5K. (He wasn't kidding.) He just crazy?

The difference between 4K and 5K is that you have a little wall towards the aisle in sleep mode in 5K, so more privacy. 4K is open towards the aisle. 4A is a "throne", check http://www.swiss.com/web/EN/fly_swis..._a330_300.aspx

Yes, he is.

Flying overnight 5K on the A333.

Is the galley loud/bad for sleeping?

5K should be fine. 5G in the center section can get a bit of noise/light from the galley but even then it's not enough to make me NOT choose the mini-cabin of rows 4 and 5.

So 4A is best of the 3 it sounds, followed by 5K, and then 4K

TLV-ZRH

Not much difference, really. The main difference is the lavatory in front of 1A, I would say.

2A if you can get it. ^

2A is not available anymore but will try at Checkin, for now it's 1K. Thanks! :)

I had 5k for an overnight flight and was perfectly happy with it.

A333 day flight: 10k, 12A or 4D

Another question (not used to flying C yet ;)

I currently have 10K (day flight, traveling solo). Not many options left but I see that 4D and 12A are blocked only. What do you think, should I try to get one of these, especially would 4D (double seat) be worth it over 10K (single seat)?

I guess 4D is blocked for SEN (I'm FTL only) but I guess I could try it nevertheless.

Thanks!

I'm flying NRT-ZRH in May. Currently seating in 5K, but thinking about switching to 4A. I know these seating questions are kind of silly, because in the end it comes down to personal prefrences. But I'm not sure in this case, as I am usually not a big fan of bulkhead seats and staring at a wall for 12hrs, but on the other hand I prefer A over K any time. And sitting in the "throne" seems just too tempting ;)

Any input appreciated!

cheers

I've sat in 4A (twice), 6K (also bulkhead) and 7K and it's hard to decide which I prefer. I think 4A is overrated. I'm not that wide but I felt wedged between the two tables. If you are in 4A the problem is no so much staring at a wall but being too close to the F cabin. ;) One good thing about the bulkhead rows (4 and 6) is that the cubbyhole where you feet go in is almost as wide as the seat and your feet are not constrained.

K in even numbered rows have the table by the window and only an armrest between the seat and the aisle. Some people found the seat to be too close to the floor in the bed mode but I didn't find it to be a problem.

On the whole I prefer K in odd numbered rows despite a slightly smaller cubbyhole. You are closer to the window and unlike even numbered A seats I didn't feel wedged in. The armrest on the window side can be twisted and lowered to the same level as the seat, thus making the seat slightly wider.

Seat 7K

Even numbered A seats ("thrones") seem to be reserved for SEN/HON (and *G?) while K seats are more readily available, but as you say it's all down to personal preference.

5K is a great seat. I don't find 4A really to be any better

I loved being queen for a day in 4A on my ORD-ZRH flight a couple weeks ago. My family was jealous, but they were in row 5, so nothing for them to complain about, really.

How to try and reserve emergency exit seats from the US?

As everyone, I would enjoy to have an emergency exit seat in Y on the red-eye from SFO to ZRH. With LH I would try and call the FTL hotline as soon as check-in opens and sometimes get lucky, sometimes get kicked-off again by their airport staff, but I don't know the procedure with LX. Is there a US number to call (and does that make sense) or does everything only happen at the airport? Thanks for your replies!

7 A&B A340

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to pre-reserve seat 7B on the A340? Travelling in a pair and I like the window seat. Trying to select seats on Lufthansa website 7A is available but 7B doesn't exist. Is it blocked or could it be reserved over the phone with LX?

Unfortunately 5A&B are booked already (will set up an alert on EF to try to grab them if they become available).

Thanks :)

Don't trust any website with LX seat reservations. Call LX to get it done - that's the only way to be sure your reservation "takes".
