Seat selection - A343 Biz
Friends,
Flying LAX-ZRH in June - is there consensus yet regarding best Biz seats? We're 2 together, and what to be together whether it turns out to be the new or old seat. Thanks ... |

Do you know which is better, the left or right? I know that on the left, there is a table on the right and on the left of you. However, you're father from the window to see, but you have more space.
If you sit on the right side of the plane, you only have 1 table, but you can be close to the window. Do you know which side is better (for instance 4A vs 4k)? ZRH-North America I prefer the right side of the plane, so the sun does not shine directly at me when looking out of the window. N.A:-ZRH I prefer the left side, possibility to see the sunset or sunrise.... |
A333 in C - amount of leg space
When I was invited for the seat testing a while ago, the layout of the A333 with 1-2-1 / 2-2-1 as it has been implemented now had the drawback of big differences in legroom, given the size of the table in front of you not always being the same. (Depending on a double seat or single seat in front of you).
I am trying to figure out now what the preferred seats would be in terms of layout. Can somebody comment on this? I am really not sure, but I believe for the single seats the K seats had more limited leg space (I mean the width of the "cubby hole" not the pitch.) And I think the single A seats had the most personal space. For double seats I think the B and G seats have less leg space. Can somebody confirm? |
Trading seats LAX-ZRH in F
My wife and I are in 2A and 2D on LAX-ZRH tomorrow night, as we couldn't get a middle pair together. Can I presume 2G is likely by themselves and we can swap that person for the solo seat in 2A?
If not, how awkward will it be for us to be across the aisle from each other? Normally, I'd never be concerned enough to post about this, but it is our 20th anniversary and we've had back seating luck lately... |
Congrats on your anniversary! :)
I would assume that 2G would be happy to trade their seat with 2A. If not, except for the aisle distance between you (maybe 2...3 feet), there is nothing awkward about sitting in 2A and 2D. Here's a good picture of the cabin you will be in: Link If I travel with my wife in LX F, we usually try to get two window seats behind each other (1A/2A or 1K/2K) because we both prefer window seats and then join each other for the meals in either seat. Small caveat: there seem to be some LX 343 planes (only one that we have been on) that do not have seat belts for the ottoman seat, so having the meal together would not be an option if the fasten seatbelt sign was on due to turbulence. |
LX 139 HKG-ZRH for 18/02
I will be taking LX 139 on 18/02 in M. The seat map of 343 available on swiss.com/seatguru is different from that found on lh.com/swiss.com during the seat selection process (several first rows in M do not have aisle seats:confused::confused:). Has anyone flown this route recently in M? Should seat 23J be avoided?
And in general (I know in advance that this may not be the smartest question), but still... Is this route known for its M class being full/overbooked on a permanent basis (like DE-JP flights for LH), or does only F/C go full and M tendto have empty sears (like DXB/DOH-FRA routes for LH)? Thank you! |
I flew with LX to HKG 2007 and 2008 and it was a 343. The aircrafts were old but pretty well maintained. The seat config is same as the one they show on swiss.com. My experience is that for LX if they say it's fully booked, it's about 80% full. LH from HKG is always full and overbooked - have seen check in staff at HKG selling upgrade to Y pax.

Seat availability for LX ZRH-LAX Y 18/2/2011
I have just called Swiss and got 5 seats 'requested' and got 42 ABDEG, and I was told that Swiss's policy not showing the seats because they are not confirmed until check-in. Can someone see if the seats are taken on that particular flight?
I also got 42 DEGJK LAX-ZRH 06/03/2011, and it would be great if someone can see if they are reserved too? Does the calling LH to generate an amadeus code still work? Thanks. |

Thanks. 18FEB2011: LX40: 42ABDEG reserved. 06MAR2011: LX41: 42DEGJK reserved. Both seatmaps are wide open otherwise, so why would you wanna sit back there? That's the third to last row and where the curvature of the fuselage starts, so the pair of two seats might be uncomfortable. I would take a look at this and call LX reservations again. (assuming 06/03/2011 means 6th of March 2011) |
I have been helping a friend book an F seat on LX to PVG from ZRH. Why is it that on the A343 seats 1A, 2A, 1K, and 2K are all noted Airport Check-in Only? We've called every LX office in US, UK, IT, and Switzerland and they tell us the only seats that can be pre-assigned are in the middle of the plane. The other seats, while not taken, can only be assigned at the airport because of bassinets, etc.. Isn't that a bit ridiculous? All seats on the windows cannot be assigned in advance. Period. They just won't do it. Why would LX take half of the seats and all of those on the windows and tell people they can't be reserved in advanced due to bassinets?

Can you get access to exit rows as a UA Premier Exec (*G benefits) on these flights? I am planning to fly SFO-ZRH-BOM in Jan '11 and want to see if I can get the exit row.

Anyone sat in 30B of the new 340 configuration? I'm guessing the experience all depends on how many/often folks hover by the bathroom. |
Sorry to be confused.
Are all flight from next May SFO/LAX to ZRH the new business seat configuration? |
