The website informs me:
SWISS will also install the new Business Class cabin in its Airbus A340 fleet as of the first quarter 2010.

I'm not sure if this means that they will start or finish... We're off to BKK mid april so I have my fingers crossed (and thumbs pressed) for new seats!

My question already answered here

There is currently an A343 (HB-JMG) undergoing a D check so hopefully this will be the first A343 to receive the new C Class.

Any new thoughts as to when the ZRH LAX flight will be operated with the new C Class onboard?

Let's hope it is not end of 2011...

I was just thinking the same and I'm hoping LX view ZRH-LAX as one of their premier routes in the same vein as they do ZRH-JFK, which I believe was one of the first routes to receive the 333.

I would imagine LAX, like JFK, has good demand for premium seats.

Anyone able to confirm this?? I'm flying LAX-ZRH in August and hoping to have the new product...

I have a booking in April on LH business class for myself and Mrs Grantosol EWR / FRA - LH403. It is a 747-400 and I have reserved two seats in the front cabin.

A couple of business class seats have opened up on LX 17 JFK / ZRH. Can any of you experts advise me if I should change? I have flown Swiss a couple of times in Asia, and it was very nice, but I have no experience of the USA routes.

Many thanks

G

If the LX flight is on A333 with new business seats I'd definitely change. Otherwise I'll stick with LH.

Thanks NewbieRunner

I called Swiss this morning, and it's the old seats - a 2 / 2 / 2 configeration, which seems quite similar to LH

There is a later LX flight from JFK with the new seats but wouldn't make my connection to DUB

Thx

Grantosol

Aren't the "old" C seats on A330-200 considerably worse than those on A340-300 which are similar to LH C seats? If LX17 is on A330-200 I'd go for LH403.

Yes the A343 seats on LX are simmilar lie flat seats than on LH however the A332 C seats on LX are very old craddle seats....not recomendable

Do I have the right seats?

Two passagers travelling together

LX64 ZRH-MIA 343 F 1K and 2K

All of F is empty at the moment.

I am worried that 1K is very close to the galley and would be bothered by the noise/light.

I can get 2DG.

I just figured that with 1K and 2K we'd have our own space on one side of the plane.

So stick with 1K and 2K or switch to 2D and 2G?

Middle Seat free in Business Class in Europe?

I was now informed, that SWISS (again) promises since beginning of this month to leave the middle seat free on all European flights. (See here)

Why is it not possible, like at LH, that always the seat next to you will remain empty in Business Class?

And does anyone trust in this, as I do not believe in SWISS leaving any customer behind, just to leave the middle seat empty?

I think the key words are:
Middle seat now remains unoccupied on all flights within Europe

So- what about the flights that don't have a middle seat...?

chumbawumba Mar 5, 2010 11:42 pm

My points are as following:
  • Where is the benefit of traveling Business in Europe? In the old days, airlines would have even dedicated seats for C pax. Those days are gone. And also the C pax seems to be gone.
  • Why not doing it right from the beginning. Imagine, you are paying C pax, but you were put to an A seat on the Jumbolino.
  • Anyway, this is not the first time, LX promises this.

IMO it is the first time that it's clearly written black on white:

Middle seat now remains unoccupied on all flights within Europe
