no readinglights for some rows on A320?

Yesterday, I had a flight on HB-IJE. I was very irritated that there were no readinglights for row 6. There were the outlets for fresh air, but no panel with light. As I could see, the same was with row 3.

As these rows normaly are Business Class, this is very annoying if you want to read or work something late in the day and with no light from the outside.
I don't know, if this problem ist just on this special airplane or if it applies to the other A320s, too.

Did you ask, if you could use your Maglite instead during take-off and landing :D:D:D

Yes, I did! There was no lamp to light row 6, instead row 5 had two lightpanels :-). But non of them was usable for me in row 6, I tested it.

seat 31B on a 343

Seatguru says that seat 31B reclines 180 degrees? Can this be right for an economy seat? I have this seat assigned this week to and from ZRH and want to know if I should keep it.

Looks not so bad actually, all classes pretty good availability except E on the outbound, but you might still get a decent fare with W outbound and E inbound:

LX () 64 0 ZRH
03/13/09 1:05 PM MIA
03/13/09 6:50 PM 343
Daily
73% / 23m F4 A4 C9 D9 Z9 J9 Y9 B9 M9 H9 U9 G9 Q9 K9 V9 L9 W9 T9 EC

LX () 65 0 MIA
03/18/09 8:55 PM ZRH
03/19/09 11:05 AM 343
Daily
78% / 25m F4 A4 C9 D9 Z9 J8 Y9 B9 M9 H9 U9 G9 Q9 K9 V9 L9 W9 T9 E9

Seats on the outbound: a few single A, B, J seats left, otherwise only middle row. Seats on the inbound: almost everything empty, almost all options available.

It seems to be official that the new Airbus A330-300 will have 236 Seats of which 8 will be in F. Nevertheless as the Aircraft itself is as long as the A340-300 of LX with 228 seats it looks like we will see less Business Class seats possibly less than 40, or is the A330-300 a little bigger. I always though the A343 and A333 are the exact same aircraft except the A343 has 4 engines and larger fuel tanks?

On the Edelweiss-Air A320 used for wetlease, the 1st row actually has almost-decent legroom. However, the bulkhead extends along the full width of the row on both sides (unlike LX A320s where C and D can stretch their feet into the galley). I was almost able to stretch my legs, and liked that there was nobody reclining into me. The legroom is not perfect, but better than many other bulkheads.

According to a LX brochure the A330-300 will indeed have 236 seats: F8/C45/Y183. A330-300 & A340-300 fuselages have the same length.

ASR for *G in Y

Can *G (non SEN/HON) reserve bulkhead or exit seats in Y on long-haul flights?

There seemed to be a couple of comments on this thread but they were a little conflicting...is there a known policy? or do *G tend to get bumped from exits for SEN/HON? (I know you can always be bumped from bulkhead for a babyseat.)

Thanks!

Exit seats: SEN/HON only.
Bulkheads: some are blocked for SEN/HON, some not. On Expertflyer (EF) blocked seats are marked with an inversed blue X.

Thanks. So this means that no form of *G other than SEN/HON gives access to
exit/bulkhead, except possibly some non-blocked bulkhead seats (which have to be available for anyone travelling with a baby regardless and can't be reliably booked).

LX is somewhat cheaper and more convenient for my upcoming long haul, but it really seems as if I should either pay up for SK/UA or just go as a nobody on AF/NW which is really cheap, since I'm just about as likely to end up in some random seat either way.

Bulkhead of ARJ 100

I recently travelled in that bird and followed advice of this forum, so chose 3A and 3B for the two of us.

Feedback:

Twin seats A and B are a MUST as LX does fill the middle seat E on the right hand side of the ARJ100 which I think is shabby for Business Class.

The bulkhead seats 1A and 1B IMHO are even slightly better than the rows behind them - perhaps the comment "limited legroom" is outdated since LX installed the slimmer Recaro seats since the original comment was written.

Cheers.

Could someone with an expertflyer account check if there are any good seats left in C on tomorrows (Apr. 8th) LX138 ZRH-HKG?

Thanks a million!
