But some Airbus I remember on the emergency exit, there is a large bump from the door which makes seating very uncomfortable and almsot impossible to extend legs or sleep well. Is this the case here or it's not?

Thanks!

I sat in 29K from ZRH-JNB on the A340 and the door did not obstruct leg space in any way. You will be very happy with your seat selection, IMO the best in eco.

Ah, great news! once I remember an emergency exit seat on a long haul that had a BIG bump on the door, was miserable and ended up changing the seat - but don't remember the aircraft type.

Good to know; the seat sure looks very good and will be much appreciated on the overnight flight back. They even told me they would block the seat next if possible (being a Senator I guess?).

Anyway, thanks again, as always great resource here!

Just did ZRH-YUL on an A333. Had 29A and while the door did protrude more than I remembered, the seat was noticeably wider than row 29 on the A340. All in all an excellent seat for anyone needing a suggestion.

I am looking for a seating suggestion for the new C on the A343. Should I go for 6A or 7K - or any of the other single K seats? 6A is the only one that is not blocked of the single seats on the left at the moment but is next to the lavatory, right?

We just had a big discussion re best seat in new C :D

I guess conclusion was, most people prefer the single A seats, because of the two tables. Bathroom is close if you are in 6A (and so is the galley), but its behind a curtain IIRC.

^ Thanks a lot. Will go for 6A :-)

Is there anyway I can choose my seat on beforehand in Swiss? Flying NRT-ZRH-OSL in F/C on an award ticket, but when I enter the reservation number on Swiss' website I cannot see any place to choose a seat?

I'd call SWISS direct and request seats. That was what I did for our recently booked award flights (C class) BOS-ZRH-FLR return. If there is a way to pick or change seats on the Swiss website, I have not found it.

call Swiss. I booked ZRH-JNB and NBO-ZRH with miles and was able to assign 2K for the A340 flight and 1K for the A330 leg.

Just to confirm after the trip, it's an excellent seat, tons of space and the door doesn't get in the way. What's more, gives you a nice place where to put your drink or your phone :). Also good you get, leaning back a bit, a full window view. Only cons would be... near bathrooms so ocassional noise (or worse), and that it is very, very cold (often the case in exit rows).

Feedback on new C class seat

Hello all,

I have several upcoming flights on LX (JFK-ZRH-BOM and DEL-ZRH-JFK) in October.

I have been told by several people, and have also read some reports online that the new C class seat is very hard. I am hoping to get some feedback if others find this true or if it is being exaggerated. How hard is this seat? Is it like sitting on a wooden bench? Is it really that uncomfortable for an 8 hour flight?

Also I have read that the adjustment button between soft and firm does not seem to work well. Should I plan to bring my own pillow or light blanket as extra cushioning?

I am booked in Z class, so unfortunately can not use my United miles for a *A upgrade award to F.

Also in case anyone is wondering, I have seats 10K and 8A currently on the A330-300.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

A343 to Bangkok which seat to choose

Hi All,

I am flying to Bangkok in August with Swiss. I read in the other treads to get the Amadeus number so now I am able to choose my seat.

When looking on the map, I see that row 29 is an exit row and that there is only two seats and row 30 E and F don't have any seat in front of them?

http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/4834/sieges.png

Could you please confirm that this map seating is correct and no seats are actually missing in row 29 and 30? (i would expect them to appear in dark grey if these were already assigned?)

Would you recommend to book the 4 available seats on row 29 and 30? Are these seats all next to each other? Any other suggestions in Eco?

Many Thanks

This looks like an old bug. Blocked seats often do not appear in Amadeus for LX-flights.

This is the accurate seatmap:

http://www.swiss.com/web/EN/about_sw..._a340_new.aspx

Indeed 29A/B/H/K do not exist.

Based on experience rather than inaccurate seat maps, 29AB/HK certainly do exist and I have enjoyed these seats on many A330-300 and A340-300 flights.

They cannot be pre-selected so your best bet is to use online check-in 24hrs before departure.

I honestly have no experience with the A343 in coach - but AFAIK, the exit row seats with more legroom are indeed 30AB/HK (and 29AB/HK are missing). And expertflyer does not contradict this.
Can somebody confirm this? Otherwise I have to edit the first post of this thread...
