Comments: Stylish room as always in suites in Kämp. However not the biggest in size and no bourgogne wine in the room this time as compliments, instead some fruit platter. Would have preferred wine, but guess it's more healthier this way.

Was given a nice huge 2-bath suite the first week. Given a similar one on a lower floor the second week, but it seemed quite dated and the TV had no HDMI input for watching my stories on an iPad, so they put me back in the same room I'd had the week before. Wish they'd done that in the first place... both times I had a tray of gorgeous little sweet treats waiting for me along with four bottles of Fiji water and a handwritten card from one of the managers. Every staffer at this hotel was very pleasant and helpful.

Seems that Plat Ambassador status does merit nice perks at some (not all, for sure) SPG properties vs. non-Ambi status.

Note to self: always check the TV before unpacking.

Property: Sheraton Mirage Resort & Spa Gold Coast
Check-in: March 4, 2014
Original: Mirage Resort Room King
Upgraded: Oceanfront Premium Room, King.
Award: NO
SNA: NO
Note: Interesting upgrade. The oceanfront rooms are more expensive than the Spa Studio suites even though they are 5 sq meters smaller. Front desk clerk mentioned this was the 2nd best room in the house. Surprised to hear him say it like that. Somehow it made me want the best. He should've just said, it's a great room and left it at that.

I was upgraded via email a few days prior to arrival. Both One-Bedroom Suites and Two Bedroom Villas were available at check-in but I was not offered those. As I'm solo, I didn't bother asking why.

This is a good rule to remember. I always unpack before checking anything. And sometimes I find an issue with the room and would move, but since I'm unpacked don't bother. Gotta remember to check the room first (but sometimes I just want to unpack after a long trip and lay down... ya know?)

Comments: Due to flight delays, was stranded in Paris and decided to check out Sheraton CDG. BAR was 299€, so opted for points. I don't know what the actual room type was, but it was the largest room in that wing according to the floor map.

Shouldn't it be club room if you are on the top floor ?

No, because I was on the 3rd floor (club on 4th). This room is actually underneath the club lounge, which will describe the size to people who have visited the club.

I like the Sheraton Crown Center better but it is in a desert when it comes to dining options outside the hotel. This property is a little worn and shabby but there's many more options in the area within a short walk. My stays are typically 4-5 nights so I can only eat in the hotel restaurant so many times.

Oh and the TVs have HDMI ports
