It can take up to 7 business days from the day you qualified for your Lifetime Platinum status to be picked up by the system.
Starwood / Marriott merger
Q : What will happen to my Lifetime Status when the programs merge together in the future?
A : Rest assured we will always recognize your Lifetime Status, whether it is today in your earned program or in the future with a new, combined program.

I think I need SPG to survive one more year to lock in LTP. I first qualified in 2010 (and have every year since) after wasting a few years staying exclusively at Marriott (the irony). This 10-year requirement is a real bummer especially since by the time I re-qualify this year I'll be well over 1000 nights with SPG in addition to 200 at Marriott. So here's hoping we get through at least the first half of 2019 to lock this thing down ...

We MIGHT get the first two months of the year I'm guessing...hoping for six months too.

A good and fair combination with no BS (like credit card points).
I have noticed most people are either SPG or MR, while I am both.
I'll have 750 combined nights some time next year.
I already have lifetime gold with SPG, so if they don't provide a good path to Plat I have no incentive to throw extra stays their way.

Here's a promise...as soon as Marriott authorizes the release of any information on the new combined program, we won't slip the information in our back pocket and sit on it.
Until then, there won't be anything requiring any clarity until they decide it is time to do so.

I would argue that an "active Platinum" is more valuable than a LT Platinum from years ago who now has minimal stays at SPG properties.

Yay! Nice that you got some sort of recognition of your LTP status. Since becoming a LTP, I have yet to stay at a hotel that acknowledges it.
