I wasn't trying to be rude to you, just pointing out that Sixt in general, and especially at LAX, just process you as if you are anyone even if you have status. This express service stuff sounds nice in theory but most stations just start their work when you show up at the counter. (I have seen at large stations like MUC and leisure stations like LAX) So you are free to ask for whatever upcharge or extra. Its not like Hertz or Avis where they prepare and assign cars in advance and have the paper work printed ready to go when you show up for pickup.

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. That helps.

I've had mixed results with wait times at LAX, but after a longish one with my last pickup (approximately 1.5 hours from shuttle pickup-to-car), I contacted management about the possibility of future Express counter service. I'm looking to do weekly rentals in the spring, so the wait times are starting to add up...

Anyway, sounds like they are actually in the process of planning a dedicated location with a separate Express counter in the near future, possibly as early as March/April. Hope it happens soon.... ^

This might be a dumb question, but it is my first time renting a car outside of my home country.

I have booked a XFAR for 20 days in April. And since XFAR is the highest you can actually book, without going in to the real luxury cars like Mercedes G550.

What would happen if they dont have any car in my category? They cant really offer me an upgrade, since there arent any.

I will be arriving kinda late at LAX, and ive read that some places run out of cars in certain categories, hence my question.

Have anyone experienced this? And if so, what happend?

Sixt new location at LAX?

Hi,

Have anyone heard anything about Sixts new location at LAX?
The website now says:
9000 Bellanca Ave
90045-4708 Los Angeles

Instead of:
Los Angeles Intl. Flygplats
9620 Airport Blvd

If you track their shuttle cars, they are going to the new adress, not the old.

I don't know anymore than you do but this is great news if they are finally getting a "real" location. I see that it is right next to Silvercar, in case they get my booking wrong

It looks like all reservations made at the old location have been transferred to the new location. I just checked their website, and printed a new reservation confirmation, and it is updated with the new adress.

I wonder if they will actually tell the customers, otherwise i think that a few people will end up in the wrong place...

Does anyone have any idea what they stock on IFAR class?

We're two persons going on a 30 day tent-camping trip, so a bit of space for all the gear would be preferable, hopefully they'll have something good American.

BTW, we're under 25, will this prevent us from getting an upgrade on the spot? We already booked the hightest available class for under 25 renters.

Any chance to get an upgrade as Sixt platinum booking a STAR for 10 days in this branch or SFO?
If yes, what type of car would it be?

Does anyone have any experience with the new location yet? I will be flying to LAX shortly, arriving at 4PM, and I'm going to need my car fast because I will be in a hurry. I have a prepaid booking and qualify for the express service. Are the shuttles still slow or did they add more buses? Are there long queues at the new location?

We made a prepaid reservation in september for a week rental ending april first. Reservation was made for the Renaissance location but after reading here I was not sure were to go. We did not come from the airport, we came by cab.
About 1 hour prior to pickup I got a text message saying that I was expexted at the Renaissance location. A half hour after that I got a nother text with the same message.
So...naturally we went there (by cab) only to be told that I am at the wrong location. They did not offer transportation to the other location. A bit of a dissapointment.
We had to take another cab there.

The new location was...new and nice. Had reserved XFAR and made a request for the Escalade but nope, no such luck. Was offered the X5 but I really had hoped for something else. The Sixt rep really put the effort in to find something for us and came up with a nice (basic trim level, I think) GL 450.
Returning the car was smooth and fast, no problems what so ever. All contacts with staff was excellent, new location was fine.
Shame about being sent to the wrong place at first.

Have another similar rental in Miami coming and made a request again for the Escalade. Lets see if I get it this time. I wonder if they read or even see those request.
