And finally, do you have some tips for LAX to be sure to have my upgrade, apparently it depends of the person who will present.

Thanks for all
I have a really nice question for you, community!

So first, if I need a car for 23 days, so it cost for instance 1200$ BUT, and there this is the really nice question, If I take the car for 28 days, it cost 800$. The question is, If I book the car for 28 days and return the cars 5 days ealier, it should be cost less or same price that I booked?

I wouldn't be surprised if it will cost more that the price that you booked if you don't keep the car for the minimum length of time that's required to get the cheaper rate. Check the conditions of the lower rate.

I have the same conundrum at the same place. How did it work out for you?

They function by return date. The computer calculates with the expectation you'll return by a certain day. I had some trouble in London and Amsterdam convincing them to change dates - it's not that they didn't want to, they literally weren't able to. So I'd say YMMV.

Sixt has some surprisingly good rates in LA (beating Hertz). Never rented with them and I'm a Presidents Club Member with Hertz (not that it gets me anything). Anyway, does Sixt have a match program Presidents Club to Platinum?

XFAR at Sixt LAX

Dear community, we had such great experiences at Sixt Miami airport this september. We booked XFAR and the awesome team there did everything they could to organise an Escalade for us - and they succeded. We are going to LA this winter and of course I booked XFAR at Sixt for november again. I was wondering if anyone here has experiences with Sixt at LAX and which cars they have there. We would love to drive an Escalade in LA as well.. Thank you guys a lot!

I suggest asking the Sixt Company Representatives in the Sixt - Any Questions? thread in the Sixt forum.

Thank you for this 'status matching' advice. Just matched my Plat Mastercard status to Sixt Platinum. Worked absolut perfect.

Just don't try calling them when the car breaks down or if you need help that's when you'll have the issues. Lot of times, folks think that the car rental companies are just being "a..holes" or restrictive, but it's also for the benefit/safety of the renter. Because Sixt doesn't have offices near Yellowstone, it would be very difficult (time consuming) to assist you if the car has issues.

Then afterwards, we'll see something on Youtube or Twitter blaming the rental car company for taking 2-3 days to get help to you.

If you want to be able to go to any state, then stick with Big 3.

Express Service LAX Upgrade Options for Platinum

Hello,
I have signed up for express service at LAX for an upcoming rental. I have an SFAR reservation travelling with my wife and 2 year old. Would like an SUV with panoramic sunroof for the kid to stare out off.
I am a platinum member and have no experience at LAX Sixt.
Do they offer Upgrades from SFAR? If so to what? Do Platinum members have double upgrades?
Also If I have express service would they let me switch out cars if I dont like it or am i stuck with what Sixt offers?
Thanks all for your chimes and responses.

Sixt doesn't really go all out for Platinum customers, that mostly happens with Diamonds if at all. So expect to get what you paid for....

Thank you for your input (quite obvious that I would get what i pay for) but i think you misunderstand and its my fault as i did not specify... apologies. I am willing to pay for an upgrade. Are you saying that i would not be offered a paid upgrade at LAX unless someone is a diamond(whatever that is)? That just does not sound right. All car rental companies that i have used do offer paid upgrades. And some on here have even been getting some really awesome free upgrades(subject to availability obviously).

The reason I like to not book what I really want up front is because it would take away from my ability to negotiate a better deal face to face.

Hence my related question... If I have express service would they let me switch out the car if I do not like it or am I stuck with what Sixt express service has on the lot for me?
