Hi, my first post in this forum. My wife and a kid are flying JFK/FRA in April in economy. What is the procedure of upgrade here? Do they have something like eVIP's like AA does? Is there an upgrade for $$? Thanks!

I have my first SQ25 experience coming up in less than a month. I'm heading home to Paris but I figured a quick connection was worth it to try SQ F on the 744 before they retire them.

Very good choice, especially if you are redeeming a saver award in the process.

Indeed, tons of saver availability through KF. Redeemed another SQ25 saver for Dec., hoping they will swap a 380 on the route once the 744's get retired and they'll be forced to honor my rez in R.

I'm flying FRA-JFK up top in J on June 19th - anyone have any idea what to expect for the menu or should I book the cook? Never flown SQ before.....

I'm in row 18 because 17 wasn't available. Any seat advice? Should I try moving to 12/14?

I'm booked on SQ 25 JFK-FRA on 5/27 in 14H Upper Deck. I'll post afterwards with a mini report regarding the seat before you leave on your flight, if you are interested.

18 is perfectly fine - I spent my flight last year on 18H and it was a very pleasant experience - the return flight was 12H (swapped with a couple who was bothered by an infant on 11H) and this one was not as pleasant - first, I've had the infant and second, as SeatGuru would say, "the proximity of the lavatories can be bothersome". I'd stick to row 18.

If you book the cook, don't take the pepper steak option out of FRA - it was dreadful.

Booked in C on SQ25 in a little over a week - currently F4 (also J4/Z4), have tried three times in the past week to do a *A UG w/UA miles, no dice yet. Any insight on when (if?) they might open up a few of these seats for final upgrades?

Good to know - you remember any details on what was on the normal menu? I would prefer something Asian.....

Sure...

Sliced fresh fruit

STARTER:

Choice of cereals or yoghurt (Cornflakes with milk or Birchermuesli, Plain or fruit yoghurt)

MAIN:

Grilled chicken breast served with roasted tomato, sauteed mushrooms and roesti potato

Phat Neau Bai Krapow, Thai style fried beef with sweet basil leaves, seasonal vegetables and fried noodles

Tomato-cheese soufflé served with bacon, spinach and roasted potatoes

BREADS:

Assorted breakfast rolls
Butter - Fruit preserve

BEVERAGES:

Gourmet coffees & selection of fine teas

LIGHT MEAL MENU Frankfurt to New York

STARTER:

"Hot" smoked salmon with mesclun, cherry tomatoes and ranch dressing

MAIN:

Fillet of beef, madeira sauce, truffled polenta, roasted artichoke

Stir fried chicken with cashew nuts, selected vegetables and steamed rice

Thai style fried noodles with seafood and vegetables

FINALE:

By the way, the BTC option is served for the "Light meal". There will surely be an asian option available (since the flight is coming from SIN) and in most cases, the asian options are the best to go for.
