I've been successful (and unsuccessful) with 25k points bids Plus to Business, but of course depends on loads and other offers.

Hello
First time posting. Traveling tomorrow evening EWR-CPH Economy. I want to bid for PE .... Minumum bid is 230 Euro and I bid 400 Euro which it says is a strong bid. I checked Expert Flyer and it shows 30 seats available in PE. First time flying SAS so I don't have any status. Any idea what my chances are and/or any tips please?

ORD-CPH 25k points bid (+EBD bonus bid) for PE to Business accepted T-6 hours before flight. Minimum bid was 24k points and 450 Euros. Business cabin was 50% full via seat check (but since seat booking costs $, this is not a sure indication of how full/empty), and now according to the seat map it is now full.

By now you will have flown but with that bid I’d be shocked if you didn’t get it. That’s a very high bid for plus. Would be curious to know.

First time poster with a question about the SAS Upgrade process.
I know they switched alliance from Sept 1 which is good for me because I have gold medallion with Delta and need to fly to CPH. Does anyone know if Delta status has a bearing on whether upgrade bids are accepted? Is it still too early in the switch from their old alliance, or do they only consider their EuroBonus status? Maybe it's just down to $.

I'm going to CPH on Sept28 and my company pays for us to travel transatlantic in Premium Economy but it's an overnight flight and the seat availability is already bad - I'm going to be in the middle of a block of 4. The current minimum bid to get into business is $340 which it calls a weak bid. The medium bid starts at $408 and strong starts at $578. I recently paid $500 to upgrade to Upper Class on Virgin from BOS-LHR so a bid in the medium band would be as good or slightly better deal, but I wonder how likely it would be to be successful. Would my Delta status have any bearing?

The minimum bid hasn't changed since I booked it a week ago, so I think I'm close enough to departure that it's not going to fluctuate until close to check in when it will probably shoot up, so I'm thinking I should put my bid in this weekend.

Delta status doesn’t give any „boost“ for your bid to clear. Only EuroBonus status (Silver +10%, Gold +20% and Diamond +30%) does. The boost is applied to the bid, e.g. an EBG bidding $100 should be recognized as $120 bid.

Is there a way for SAS customer service people to indicate where I stand on the upgrade bid list?

No, besides you need to realize this is a dynamic environment. They may raise the minimum bid, and others might bid higher, knocking you down.

550 USD bid, plus —> business for BOS to CPH. 450 min and has been every time I check, and I changed to 550 which shows as a medium bid. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Bid Plus -> Bz for next week's CPH-PVG flight. Minimum bidding is 22,000 points. I offered 22,122 points (just a small random number above the minimum). Weak but I think there is a good chance since the flight seems empty. Will report later.

Is it Sunday? The biz cabin is 25% full based on seat assignment.

At this level of capacity safe to say if you don’t clear your bid prior to airport arrival, it will be easy enough to do it at the airport for whatever they deem the
seat upgrade be.

Just remember that once they started charging for seat selection for non EBG/D/P the number of pre selected seats dropped dramatically. And the number selected seats is a poor count for booking level.

Obviously true!
I guess there is no way to see how full the aircraft will be in advance as a passenger.
