Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

What airline loyalty program do you guys suggest for booking Qsuite awards?
Of course I have read this article. But has anyone really used JAL Mileage for booking Qsuite awards? I'm a bit hesitant to move a substantial amount of SPG points over.
Are most of you still using AAdvantage for this albeit the higher amount of points necessary?

You should try to fly the A380 and you will notice the silence and the better air very fast.
I have flown many A380 flights on QR, EY, BA, QF, and others, in J and F. You are correct that it is much quieter, and as I mentioned before, the computerized flight control counteracts some turbulence, making for a smoother ride. However, I have not seen anything from Airbus or anyone else that indicates it has higher humidity or higher air pressure (lower cabin altitude). It does have high-quality air filters, but so do almost all modern planes. The 787 and A350, because of the higher composite and lower aluminum structure, can operate with higher humidity and higher air pressure (lower cabin altitude).

And the 787 is a bleedless airplane. Cabin air enters from under the fuselage.

I am booked on a Incheon flight in late March (27th), my seat map shows the Qsuites. Is there a possibility for it to change back to 2-2-2 configuration or is the Incheon route permanently a Qsuite destination now?

I checked (because it is being discussed in the QR ICN-FRA deal thread) and it seems to change back to 2-2-2 in early May. Not sure what happens after that...

Not to be snarky, but the answer to that question is always yes, regardless of which flight you're on or where you're going, even on "permanent" QSuite destinations. It's always a moving target with some carriers, and I put QR on that list.

There is nothing like "permanent" on QR.. To give you an idea, see changes announced yesterday:
https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...route-20180309

But end of March seems to be safe.
However, you always have a risk of last-minute ac substitution for operational reasons. And with few 777 ac equipped with Q suite, you might end up with the old seats.

nothing wrong with being snarky haha i realised my wording is misleading, what i really meant was the Qatar context of permanent - will it be there for a few months?

Anyway I have my fingers crossed but it's not the end of the world - I do like the 2-2-2 spacious seating still, especially if I don't have a seatmate!

Hello Everyone,

First time poster. I am wondering if anyone has any information regarding whether either of the following two routes will have the Q Suites in July 2018. Based on recent operational changes:

1. ATL to DOH QR756 - currently operating 777-300ER, reported to be replaced by A350-900XWB March 25, 2018. Will this A350-900XWB have Q-suites?
2. JFK to DOH QR704 - currently operating A350-900. There is rumor of a second New York route having Q Suites. Is the rumor related to this route (A350-900 exchanged out for A350-1000?)

I appreciate any help as I am trying to decide which route to take.

Hi momoney232,

Welcome to the QR forum.

Unfortunately it is very hard to predict what Qatar is going to do regarding the QSuite deployment. Right now only one A359 has the QSuite out of 23 and the pace of delivery is very slow and unpredictable (some planes stay in Toulouse for months for no apparent reason).
If your goal is to fly the QSuite, your safest bet, as of today, is to take the 77W flight out of JFK. You can try the second A350 flight which might switch to QSuite but don't count on it. Currently, QR seems to deploy the QSuite on high yield routes (London, Paris, New York) so it is likely that the second daily JFK will switch to the QSuite once they have the planes available. ATL might come later.

But again, with everything fleet related with QR, I could be all wrong and everything could change between now and july.

Thanks for the quick reply - I understand that this question is pretty much a guessing game, but a consensus opinion is definitely better than my poorly-informed opinion.

I guess I'm having a hard time in understanding how they are implementing the A350-1000 as well as the 18 A350-900 which are supposedly outfitted with the new Q suite. Are the A350-1000 likely replacing highly-profitable routes that are already run by A350-900s (thereby, slightly increasing capacity- i.e. JFK route 2 - QR704).

Are all newly announced route changes which are receiving A350-900xwb's getting one of the 18 outfitted with Q suites ( i.e - is the ATL route in March 2018 more likely to receive a newly outfitted A350-900 or receive an "older" one from another route).

As an additional data point - I had Qsuite last Tuesday from Bengaluru (Bangalore) to Doha (QR573).

No idea whether permanent or not - crew less than knowledgable.

I'm not sure where you got the 18 A350-900 fitted with the QSuite from as there is only one right now (A7-ALY), all other A359 have the BE Super Diamond, aside from the two LATAM frame. That makes two A350 with QSuite, one -900 and one -1000, (-ALY and -ANA, respectively). So the chance that they will be deployed to ATL are very thin. JFK is the best bet, but again, it's still a bet. You are better off flying on the evening 77W out of JFK.

Sorry - I must have misinterpreted an article. I got it from onemileatatime's article Feb 24.

"However, the A350-900s remaining to be delivered (there are 18 of them) will be delivered to Qatar Airways featuring the new Qsuites."

Unfortunately, the QR702 flight with the 77W is not available for award redemption. I'll continue to keep an eye on it.

Anways, thanks for the info and all updates are appreciated.
