Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

So, footwell is huge which is excellent, but it looks a tad narrower than I'd expected due to the protrusion of the table.
The seat wasnt fully functioning, so it looked like it wouldnt recline into the Bed Mode - which is a shame.
No sign of the 'Door' we had been expecting, but still a nice product.
Is it as revolutionary as AAB had said? Not in my opinion - but I'll happily change my mind once I've seen more photos and info.

disappointing facebook feed! to much music and no focus on the product or spec's being shared. The <2m Youtube video is more informing.
Ciouruis which aircraft will be retrofitted first! Flying the 773 and 772 to Tokyo early june, and would be nice if one of the aircraft would already have this product.

Compare it with fusio photos.
Fusio back and front walls are straight. The back seating sketches across the seat like SQ J used to be.
Qsuite is S shape, so the width of the seat is similar to everyone else on the market. The space besides the seat is also somewhat wasted. But by doing so they could save approx 1 feet of space per set of seats.
In my opinion, this makes the Qsuite disappointing. If I am travelling alone, I would still prefer reverse herringbone to this, as this one provides less legroom. The only nice thing is the double bed feature.

. . . .
Within 3 hours, we will be critiquing the seat against all other carriers
Within 4 hours, we will be assuming the cost increases to routes offering the new J seat
Within 5 hours, we will be contemplating which routes will get the new J seat first
Within 6 hours, we will be wondering when a Sale will happen, so we can book to try the new J seat (remembering we absolutely don't like it)
Within 7 hours, myself and fellow Co-Mod will be removing posts about how CX and SQ offer a better product (despite the majority of posters writing, having never tried the product themselves)
Within 10 hours everyone will be friends again, and AAB will have insulted someone which will make us laugh
Within 12 hours we'll be praising the new J seat.
Something like that I reckon![Big Grin](https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Justin Case The initial retrofit plans are well known as has already been discussed on this thread. The 773 will be the first to be retrofitted at the rate of two or three per month. It is thought that this will start in about June or July this year. After that, that is late next year, the next aircraft type will be retrofitted will be announced.
From today new deliveries will have the new seat already fitted. Thus with the large number of scheduled A350 deliveries this year you are more likely to first see the new seat on an A350.

Looks really good. Love the Privacy aspect of it. Interested in seeing how far the seat reclines when you just want to watch TV and also how it transforms into a lie flat bed and how much space their are for your feet when sleeping.
