Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg
Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html
From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Fortunately, BKK has been retaining its 777s and A380s, so I'm happy with the J and F offerings respectively!

I'm 180cm and haven't found the foot coffin to be an issue (but am not that tall). I've been on QR J on A320, A340, A350, A380, 777 and 787 - so some with coffin, some without. One thing I can say is that I'd rather be on any of them than in CW on BA. Unfortunately, I don't have the means to only fly F on any airline...

I tend to move about when I sleep (according to my OH), so find it hard to not wake myself up. Don't get me wrong - the current J product on the A350, A380 and 787 is excellent and I prefer flying it over any of the other ME3 airlines.
However, the new J must be forward thinking, and cannot just be altered in 3 years time - EY, for example, did something truly different with their Apartments concept. As for The Residence, I wont discuss that here.
QR has an opportunity with its J product, and I hope they do something interesting with it.
All will be revealed on Wednesday.

I totally agree it is better than BA CW, but that is not a discussion for this thread.

I was on an Emirates 380 not too long ago and the seat was nice but the service didn't match up to QR/EY. I also flew Qantas J as part of that itinerary and was pleasantly surprised, OK the seat was a little outdated but the food was great, service excellent and I spent some time up in the little "cinema area".
I'm doing CX ORD-HKG-BKK on May in F. Haven't been in F (on any airline) for over 10 years so it will be interesting to see how things have changed.

IIRC correctly AAB mentioned that they needed another product for the 787 (and hence narrower wide bodies), but after having work clocked in 60 or 70 hrs working in the last 5 days, my brain could be trolling me at this point.
Only 2 days to go, so no reason to start rumours.

Within 3 hours, we will be critiquing the seat against all other carriers
Within 4 hours, we will be assuming the cost increases to routes offering the new J seat
Within 5 hours, we will be contemplating which routes will get the new J seat first
Within 6 hours, we will be wondering when a Sale will happen, so we can book to try the new J seat (remembering we absolutely don't like it)
Within 7 hours, myself and fellow Co-Mod will be removing posts about how CX and SQ offer a better product (despite the majority of posters writing, having never tried the product themselves)
Within 10 hours everyone will be friends again, and AAB will have insulted someone which will make us laugh
Within 12 hours we'll be praising the new J seat.
Something like that I reckon

This is Flyertalk - 2 days to go means 48 hours of rumours and assumptions, leading to mass disappointment when we see what it looks like, and deciding we don't like it...a view that will be based on absolutely nothing but a photo released by the QR Press Team.

An alternate link of the Zodiac Fusio showing a few more angles of the seat:

+1 hoping they don't go with the backwards facing seats - one aspect of BA ClubWorld that always put me off!
