Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Flying as a family of 4 to Singapore on the A350 this Christmas. Really hope they have retrofitted the plane by then, it looks amazing!

It seems more of a hybrid between the new UA Polaris and DL's enclosure door, the supposed new BA seat/cabin, and what's been flying on ANA, OZ and JL for a couple of years. But for the B777s certainly a long needed improvement.

I think couple and families will like the seat way more than single flyers, especially the "x4" innovation .

But Delta doesn't fly everywhere. If you want to fly SEA-Europe, you're not going to fly Delta one of their aircraft types has a superb product.

It is likely the same will apply to the A350.

One thing I've noticed that no one has mentioned is the new design of tableware, cutlery, salt and pepper, glasses etc. I am guessing that this will be included, since they are also heavily advertising the new amenity kit as well.

That's probably a more apt explanation indeed. It's a nice seat certainly, but with AAB going all praise for it - I really expected someone much much better; given his penchant for detail and quality. IMHO AAB should have just let the product do its talking when it came out than raise expectations too high.

The same does apply to Qatar as well. Qatar doesn't fly everywhere. Nor will one fly Qatar from SEA-Europe. While admittedly one's not going to see spiffy new Delta One seats on SEA-Europe as well, one's pretty much not gonna to fly Qatar if crossing the Pacific Ocean.

Looks amazing, a level above the competition.

However, why is it, when I look at the 4 seats facing each other with a family seated, the first word that comes into my head is "noise"?

Would certainly like to try it though.

Hmmmm. I'll need to try it, it all looks very 'hard' and somewhat unwelcoming. That said I can that for sleeping there are some real plus points.

Hate that there are backwards facing seats.

Looking at the seat controls, it looks to me, unless I'm mistaken, that like the A380 First seats, the control on the far right allows the entire seat to move forwards and backwards. Anyone else agree? Or am I just seeing things

I noticed that in the original video, and couldn't work out what it was for.

I wondered whether it was WiFi related.
