Great price but 14hrs 30mins from MEL-DOH on a QR 777 doesn't quite make the [sloping] grade

Yup flat: http://theluxeinsider.com/wp-content...t-1050x700.jpg

The only negative report I've heard of the 777 seat is if you share the window pair with someone you don't know.

Brussels to Dubai is under 1000 euro, so not bad.
Unfortunately, I can't find the Warsaw to Incheon price advertised...(6 PLN)

You are right. The config 2-2-2 still puts me off a 14hrs+ flight

I've done it. The 777 J seat is my favourite in the QR fleet (and I've also flown the A350 and A380 recently). IMHO you would be mad not to do it because of this

I've flown on all 3 planes as well and definitely prefer the new 1-2-1 config.
Out of curiosity, why do you prefer the 2-2-2 777?

I found the 1-2-1 to feel a lot more cramped, especially round my feet, and I couldn't stretch out as well (I'm 6' 3"). The 777 seat is much more spacious (as shown by it taking up 3 windows compared to the 2 on the A380 and A350). A350 was incredibly quiet in comparison to the 777 though - even I slept, and that never happens to me!

However, everyone's different and if we all liked the same thing life would be pretty boring. My main point was that I wouldn't not go somewhere because the flight was on a 777 (the same as I wouldn't not go somewhere if it was on the A380 or A450)

Bulkhead rows are amazing on the 1-2-1 config even for those with abnormal length (like us ). I couldn't sleep in a normal row (could not find position for my feet) but in bulkhead (row1) I slept the whole flight.
Definitely ask at check in next time.

Will do - though my next four sectors are all 787 and A340. I'm told row 1 is a must on the A340, so will definitely be trying

I am seeing some sale fares ex-US for Economy, but really not so good for Business.

On some sample US-Indian Subcontinent routes for Economy (O class - terrible miles value) and doing flexible dates (looking for that star banner for cheapest date views - essentially avoiding the weekend peak travel days surcharge):

Introductory (new US destination fares): $1040
A random sale a few weeks ago: $1015
Today: $980

For business, I had seen $4k per person prior to the sale. Obviously, if they did 2-4-1 on anything close to that fare, it would have been amazing (and not impossible considering what BA JV did with Europe a few weeks ago). However, I am seeing fares closer to $4500 each now ($9k for 2).

So, yes, it is cheaper, but nothing dramatic.
