I can't see your itinerary and the price of economy class ticket.
Unless you are travelling in high season (school holidays etc), you should monitor every week the price of economy class ticket (in case they offer a promotion, just buy it, don't wait anymore) until January 2016 when they might offer a big new year sale as they did in January 2015.

When travelling between 16th Jan and 30th June, but booked before 13th Dec.
Bizarrely when i go to book a flights MEL-EDI in business, for the second leg it keeps kicking me into economy.

Well, as you will leave Germany during Easter holidays, don't expect a very low price in economy class : you can get it at 799 EUR today (instead of 854 EUR as QR seems to have realeased some inventory in V class for SIN-DOH-OSL), which is not a bad deal during school holidays or you can wait until January in case they have a New Year sale (which might not apply to school holidays travels...).
You've got a very good deal in business because there's usually less demand for business class during school holiday and it was during a twice a year big promotion in business class.

I got an email with that same code on it "THANKYOU2015" says it's valid until Jan 2nd but every route I try it says "This offer is not applicable for the specified route.(CUG008)" or on the ones that don't say that, the before and after voucher prices are exactly the same.
