let say ARN-BKK earns 10000 in your class, you will get 30000 ( 3x ) + 10000 ( PLAT )

Hi all – I purchased flights AMS-DOH-BKK this morning in the rather good sale currently underway, travelling next October (€2300 return for two people)
I’ve just received an email from “Qatar Ecommerce Support” requesting a copy of my passport and a copy of my credit card statement. This appears to be legitimate (it includes my booking reference) but I just wanted to check whether anyone else had received anything similar?
Quite tedious but I presume I have fallen foul of some anti-fraud provision.

I never received something like this. Do you used a classic CC ?

I used an Amex - the account was opened within the past month so is pretty new, but otherwise it is a standard card. Possibly a relevant data point is that the card is registered in (and I live in) the UK, but the flight is from AMS.

Maybe you just triggered some random checks from QR, ask them why

Could be just a security thing. I would just call them up. I would never send a copy of my CC# or passport via email. Perhaps in person but never email. Call the UK #

So when you put in say, OSL-BKK in Bus as a Plat, and it says ~25k miles, you won't get 75k miles. I don't know how you find out what the base miles are. Anyone know ?
Cheers.

I was working this out also today as its not strictly 4X the fare class for plats unless youre on a full fare Y ticket. In Qcalculator select the trip as a burgundy member . Look at the miles for your ticket class and X3 then (if you are platinum) add the miles you would get for a y ticket .

Base Qmiles = Actual distance flown x Booking class Qmiles Accrual %
Tier Bonus Qmiles = Actual distance flown x Tier Bonus %
More info here:
Booking class Qmiles Accrual %
Tier Bonus %
Using our best friend the Qcalculator here ares some examples for a DOH-LHR, one way trip - which is 3,244 miles flown.
Flying Economy on an N fare
Base Qmiles = 1,622 Qmiles (50% of actual miles flown)
Flying Economy on an H fare
Base Qmiles = 2,433 Qmiles (75% of actual miles flown)
Flying Business on a C fare
Base Qmiles = 5,677 Qmiles (175% of actual miles flown)
No matter the fare
Platinum tier bonus Qmiles = 3,244 Qmiles (100% of actual miles flown)
Gold tier bonus Qmiles = 2,433 Qmiles (75% of actual miles flown)
Silver tier bonus Qmiles = 811 Qmiles (25% of actual miles flown)
So for this triple Qmiles offer a Gold member would get in total:
Flying Economy on an N fare
(3 x N fare Base Qmiles) + Gold tier bonus = (3 x 1,622) + 2433 = 7299 Qmiles
Flying Economy on an H fare
(3 x H fare Base Qmiles) + Gold tier bonus = (3 x 2433) + 2433 = 9732 Qmiles
Flying Business on a C fare
(3 x C fare Base Qmiles) + Gold tier bonus = (3 x 5677) + 2433 = 19464 Qmiles
Tier Bonus Qmiles = Actual distance flown x Tier Bonus %

So total QMiles should be..... burgundy_miles x 3 +(platinum_miles - burgundy_miles)
Thanks very much to everyone who has helped me out (spoon fed) me this :-) I'm great with some things but this just bamboozled me !
100,000+ for Osl-SYD is superb.
£1200 OSL-SYD plus 100,000 miles is another return in economy somewhere nice or the majority of another business class trip to BKK or the like.
WOW !!!!
I don't really have anything I want to do in Australia but I'll find something :-)

Plenty to do over here!
Also there are many Downunder trip reports on FT - all worth a read.
Dont forget your free E-visitor 651 electronic visa available online from www.border.gov.au
