Pros for 1AB is that its generally quiet and you actually get a forward looking window.

Cons for 1AB is that there is little overhead locker space and you may get some disturbance from people accessing the centre closet during the night.

So if taking 1AB, then board early to stow you bags in the overhead lockers above row 2.

And the water bottle stowage is way, way ahead of you in the bulkhead - hard to reach during the night. (Different seat?)

I booked my first QF flight on the A388. When calling for my seat assignment the agent put me in 81C and told me it was a bulkhead. From the seat maps it doesn't look like it. What gives?

Not on any of the 388s I've been on. 79 is exit row, 80A & K are the dream Y seats are there is no seat in front and AFAIK row 81 is standard.

I've been lucky to only fly up front, but I think the proceeding poster might be right from looking at the seat maps. This suggests that 79 B,C,H & J as well as 80 A & K are also worth looking at. 71 D also looks promising.

80A/K & 71D can be had if unallocated at no addional charge.

79B/C/H/J cost an exit row surcharge (if pre-allocated), although 79C/H can have issues with traffic.

Just wondering how often other FT'ers have been bumped from their chosen seats prior to check in? In the last week I've been bumped from the first row in Y domestically BNE-SYD, SYD-PER and then PER-SYD. I have managed to go back into my booking or online check-in and select the other side of the cabin, but am surprised this would happen at all. Previously the seats I finally gained access to were blocked for CL prior to T-80.

744 / 3 class (J/PE/Y) / Business / seats 3E & 3F?

Any comments on seats 3E & 3F in B744 with business class config downstairs in the nose (ie., no F class seating)?

In particular, how is the legroom in these seats? ExpertFlyer shows nothing in rows 1EF or 2EF ahead of these seats, but I assume there may be a bulkhead or some other structure there?

Any comments from recent experience appreciated.

With thanks,

tb

3E/F in 2 or 3 class configurations are good seats in that no-one has to climb over or be clinbed over should on need to access the aisle.

Other that that they are standard skybed mk 1 ...

52B on QF73 SYD _ SFO tomorrow

52B on QF73 SYD _ SFO tomorrow This seat is available, there isn't any seats shown in 51 ABC and no other rows until 39. We are currently in 71 JK, but I will move if there is lots of leg room.

Any help, greatly appreciated.

Expert Flyer: Seat Blocking

I'm traveling on QF56 in a few days time, barely ever fly QF, mostly fly NZ so Ive got not status on Qantas.

On expert flyer its showing that the two seats next to me have been blocked! surely that is a mistake? Unless the flight has a very light load. On the QF seat map is now showing most of the seats to be taken, but on the expert flyer one its show seats taken with heaps of blocked seats.

Are these seats blocked or just taken?

Or is it a very light load J7 C7 D7 I6 U1 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X9 E0

X9? A few days out?

That indicates an extremly light load.

Presumably you have some QFF/oneworld status since seat preselection is generally not available unless ruby or above.

X is award economy class - that says it all ...

Its down to X2 now, but they may have reduced some of the reward seats as the flight is tomorrow, looks like some more of the lower classes have sold now two.

Ive got no QF/OW status at all, yet seat selection opened up for me like 10days ago. Which is werid cause I'm traveling on a red e-deal (N) that was booked just over two weeks ago.

Makes me wonder if they are going to run this flight tomorrow or not, Q44 seems to have a light load as well.
