Just got back from mine.

Ended up doing LAX-MIA-PTY-MIA-JFK-LAX. LAX-MIA was 3 class 772, used miles (no copay :P) to upgrade LAX-MIA and JFK-LAX to F. All in all good run, good price and even got some work done.

Any chance you credited to BA?
Do you get the original TP or the upgraded TP?

I have an JFK-LAX last week and was offered 250$ upgrade to F, I was considering it for the TP only (70 more) but wasn't sure which of the classes be credited...

Original credit to BAEC, no extra TPs unlike when you are on BA metal.

Through 2 itineraries I managed to book:

BOS-ORD-LAX-JFK-MIA-PTY-MIA-JFK-LAX-ORD-BOS

LAX-LAX was $770 the first weekend in Oct (A and I fares).
RT BOS was $500 (W fare).

14,655 miles or almost 22k EQP for $1,300! It'll be a long weekend. Except for 5hrs at JFK on the way to PTY and an overnight in PTY, the routing is pretty tight with only a few hours in between flights.

Oh dear, I really should know better

Inspired by the tales of derring-do in these pages, I have now booked a side trip for when I'm in LA in the New Year:

LAX-CLT-MCO-MIA-PTY and back P / P / P / I / I / P / P / P

Will be interesting to visit the Canal and also come home with 740 BAEC Tier Points and a fistful of Avios

Finished up LAS-MIA-PTY-MIA-JFK-LAX. May I ask what do you love about the PTY turns -- was that all in one day?

My favorite seg was the transcon lie-flat by far.

How did you skip the copay? Booked in something other than I?

Done in almost exactly 48 hours.

I like PTY as a turn due to not having any issues with immigration. Deplane, walk to next gate, wait. Perfect (other than re entering US @ MIA, ohh the pain).

What are people doing about turnarounds in PTY? Flights I've looked at seem to arrive at 9:53pm and if I want to fly next day, can get a 8:25am flight. Around 8 hours of doing whatever or else book a hotel for a couple of nights?

I have done this twice - the first time we stayed a few days in the city and explored. The second time I was alone and stayed overnight at the Crowne Plaza near the airport. It was less than $100. Took a Uber into the city for some good dinner (pork chops and fried plantains, yum) and flew back the next morning. Plenty of mileage runners on this route :-)

How do you book it to include JFK? I only get LAX-MIA-PTY when I search. Thank you in advance.

Use the multi city search function;
LAX-JFK
JFK-PTY
PTY-JFK
JFK-LAX
