Anyone have suggestions on what else to add to make Kimpton and InTouch/IC more accessible to folks looking for info?

Am I missing anything?

Cheers all

I've stayed at more than 25 of the properties, many of which don't have reviews. Will try to help out with adding some.

Maybe a note about the secret word? During summer and winter months, they offer a "secret word" via social media (@Kimpton | fb: Kimpton). If you say this during check-in, you get free stuff. I know they've waived parking charges in the past, but I've personally not been able to try it. Maybe another FTer can describe other perks received?

They just announced the 2013-2014 winter secret word yesterday (twitter | facebook), which is valid until 28-FEB-14).

I checked out on 2-DEC from the Hotel Marlowe, so I tweeted @KimptonInBos hoping maybe they'd retroactively waive the parking charge even though it was one day prior to the start of the secret word activation. No dice (not that I expected it)... they suggested I book another stay :)

The past August the Hotel Monaco and Vintage Park in Seattle offered me free parking, a bottle of wine or a comped movie for providing the secret word.

You were IC then, right? I wonder if the secret word offers are set per property or if they offer up different items for IT vs IC.

tondoleo Dec 3, 2013 4:18 pm

Yes I was IC at that time.

I politely declined all that was offered. I was told at each property that they would have something "special" for me on my next visit. I returned the following week and received nothing extra. However, I was not dissuaded in any way to return to the Monaco and VP 3 months later.

The Angler's just got added to the Kimpton portfolio. This could be a particularly lucrative use of redemption nights because this is an all-suites hotels.

Kimpton Philadelphia Rates

Is it just me, or is $299 at the Monaco Philadelphia for a Saturday in January (non holiday weekend) a little much when the Four Seasons is $249?

These are best available rates (refundable).

Any thoughts on this crazyness?

Thanks

I've been on the road and trying to book my xmas flight so I missed this. I never even knew there was a secret word . Time to pay more attention

You should add the other new hotels that are here or coming. I believe Austin, grand cayman islands, and the recently opened up Miami property.

they are also changing the inner circle program next year. a second level will be added. I wasn't given the specific details, but internally it shows a certain code on current IC members. most likely top spenders.

thegrailer Jan 2, 2014 8:12 am

Grand Caymen looks to be a 2016 opening and Austin is a 2015 opening so I'll hold off on those. MIA added.

I hope to new secret IC levels don't turn into a you're not the upper/better/more "kewl" IC member so that suite or benefit really isn't available. Better discussed in a separate thread -

Cheers

Is there a way to indicate which hotels are owned by Kimpton and which are just managed by them? I didn't realize until reading something on Trip Advisor yesterday that not all Kimptons are owned by them. I had read a few hotels in San Francisco had been sold [Triton and Harbor Court] but are still managed by Kimtpon. A google search turned up a bit of info but not a comprehensive list.

Has anyone found a difference in how IC members are treated at Kimpton owned vs. Kimpton managed hotels? Does it matter on who owns the hotels rather than the fact that Kimpton manages them?
