Delta Status Match results

I'm a 1K on United and requested a status match by Fax on Tuesday, today (less than 48 hours later) I am a Gold Medallion on Delta. Thanks to FT for all the info I needed!

Do I need to fax my details to them? Or can I e-mail? One post said to just e-mail [email protected]. Can I just do this?

Thanks!

UA is now a challenge status match. They front you up to 1P status, and then you have to fly 12.5 k miles or 15 segments to keep it. If you fail and do get 6.5 k or 6 segments (I believe these numbers are correct but please correct me if I'm wrong), then you get 2P instead. If you match now, status is good through 2009.

Challenge miles must be on UA metal with UA flight numbers.

Hope this helps.

Also, your US flights will count toward the status match challenge as well:

I don't think this is correct. The challenge miles must be on UA metal with UA flight numbers according to the South Dakota MP CSR's. YMMV, but this is the information I was given.

2P match challenge requires 6,250 miles or 8 segments within 90 days.

UA Premier Exec Status Match

Is there any way around the one time status match with UA? I have US Airways Platinum status and want to move 100% of my business to them (80-90K miles a year) and they declined. They did extend a status match in 2002 (shame on me) but my wings were clipped for business travel then so I could not requalify. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Begging, pleading, escalating.

Actually, a little bit of charm goes a long way. I've managed to get a match three times (including this year) even thought I have not flown on them since 2000.

Hello everyone,

First, thanks to all of you for this really informative thread.

I was AAdvantage Gold (through my employer), and just switched to CO. I mailed my documents 6 days ago, and as of yesterday I'm showing up as Silver at continental.com. I wanted to let everyone know that they changed the status match PO box, and I figured out the fax number.

After emailing the service center, here is what they request:

-Full Name
-OnePass Account Number
-Current Address
-Current Phone Number
-A copy of the most recent statement from the other airline showing status and current mileage
-A copy of your current elite card from the other airline

You can send it to:

OA Match Request
P.O. Box 4757
Houston, TX 77210-4757

or, fax to 832-235-2713.

Anybody know if this info is still accurate?

Bonzz Sep 10, 2007 3:16 pm

Sad to say, this makes three in a row...
FYI that fax number listed above for CO status match (832-235-2713) does not appear to be working any longer.

They should. They seem to match from most airlines

I too am looking for a fax number to send in my status match request.
When I called them up last week, they said the only way to do this is mail in the request.

AeroMexico

Does AeroMexico status match US carriers and at what levels?

dchirsch Sep 16, 2007 5:55 am

Is Status Match on UA worth it?

I am currently Platinum on US and am close to CP (95k+). I need to fly to Vietnam in a few weeks, and am trying to figure out how to fly better than coach. I am willing to use miles (have a bunch) but nothing is available on any Star Alliance carrier.

The best set of flights I have found for my schedule is UA...if I try to get a status match on UA would it help my upgrade possibilities any? With this flight, if I use my US DM number I would have over 125k miles earned this year, so I am not opposed to using my UA MP number. But I'm not sure it's worth it. Any thoughts from the experts?

Thanks in advance.

US Platinum (soon to be CP)
no status on anybody else (I live near PHL)

My boss faxed his Delta statement to United on Friday night. He is Platinum with Delta, over 100,000 Medallion miles this year and almost has one million miles. Within 12 hours, he received an e-mail granting him UA Exec Plat (1P) for 90 days... Very happy since he has an IAD-SFO roundtrip coming up and rarely ever flies UA. Maybe he'll finally see the light now...

Haven't seen any reports of Aeromexico matches.

No recent experience, but Mexicana used to be an easy match.

gleff Sep 16, 2007 6:55 am

UA status will get you a higher spot on the waitlist if you're trying to upgrade, but you'd still need either (1) an upgradeable fare and the miles or (2) an upgradeable fare and a systemwide upgrade (not that upgradeable fares are different for systemwides than for miles).

UA Premier Executive status will get you lounge access while flying internationally in coach (of course you're already Star Alliance Gold, so you'd have that anyway), bonus miles, and economy plus seating (extra legroom). A Premier Executive can also pre-reserve exit row seats, subject to availability.

However, in general, I don't suggest status matches for a single trip. However your trip may allow you to complete the challenge and have 1P for next year. And there are reports that the challenge from UA isn't a once-in-a-lifetime thing. So might be worth it.

Well, I did get matched through the mail...relatively painless, only took 4 business days (didn't quite get what I was hunting though, a match to plat, they only offered Gold)...Also came with what I felt was a somewhat unnecessarily sternly worded, "this match is a one-time offer, should you fail to accrue adequate mileage for elite status in the future it will not be granted."

I tried searching through the first 10 or so pages without finding anything, but how long after faxing info in does Delta take to apply a status match to your account? I sent mine in last Thursday (September 20th, 2007) and have a flight coming up next Wednesday (October 3, 2007) in which I'm hoping to be able to upgrade IF the status match goes through in time.

Thanks :)

Does Jet Airways (India) status match? Have highest status on KL/AF, bmi and AA

Over the summer I faxed in to DL on a Thursday morning, and on Saturday morning I logged into my Skymiles account and saw that I was posted as Gold. Check your account regularly. It took DL two weeks to snail mail me the intro.

I faxed my letter to the fax number listed in this thread without contacting (email, phone) to request a match first. Is this ok? Or do I need to receive an email or letter officially informing me of how to request the match first?

Thanks!

As long as the info in the OP is still correct and not outdated, that wont be a problem.

IsleOfMan Sep 24, 2007 7:56 am

I guess if it doesn't go through by next saturday's update I'll call or email and make sure the fax/mail info hasn't changed.

You don't say what airline you faxed it to, and a whole lot of fax numbers have been mentioned in this thread!

Faxing without a preliminary phone call worked for me with bmi. I attached a recent printout from my AA account showing a good deal of activity, a scan of my current Platinum (mid-tier) card, and a scan of an EXP (top-tier) card that expired Feb. 2007, both with expiration dates clearly visible. My cover fax also explained my reasons for wanting the status match.

However, that's no guarantee that faxing without a phone call will work anywhere else. You also didn't say what you attached to your fax. Each airline has its own procedures and its own documentation requirements. If you can say which airline you faxed and what you attached, those who know more about that airline might be able to chime in.

I faxed to Delta. The number I faxed to was 404-773-1945. Is this number still good? Should I just go ahead and send a preliminary email and re-fax it, or does that run the risk of mucking things up?

Thanks

I faxed my request on 8/28 to 404-715-9220. I received my Gold status online in 48 hours. I just received my snail mail package with my card on 9/20. So you should get it online in time for your trip. My status is good until Feb. 09.

The speed others have received the match in is making me worry. I faxed mine Thursday afternoon and here it is Monday afternoon with no match yet. Should I call and check on the status? What number should I call?

try refaxing the request to the number given by sfskier (404-715-9220). Also, rather than reading through every page, what you can do is use the "Search this Thread" feature at the top of the page, in the bar just under the page numbers. Entering in search terms like "delta fax*" will probably work. (fax* because it needs to be 4+ characters and * acts as a wildcard)

you can also try calling cust svc and asking what the number is. this is what i did with UA.

IsleOfMan Sep 24, 2007 1:43 pm

It took me 3 tries on two different fax machines to get 404-715-9220 to work. Seems like it may be a single machine and/or single line because a few times I got busy signals and a few times I got no response. I'll report back if things happen any quicker after using this number.

Thanks!

I am going to be staying at Hyatts in the coming future and wanted to get comped to Diamond from HH Diamond. Is it just a matter of calling the HGP number and asking and they will then tell me to fax proof of Diamond status to a number?

UA Status Match reply

Hi all,

I just hoping to hear from anyone who's done a UA Status Match recently as to how long it took using the premiermatch email address.

I've been walking a fine line, as I'm flying a few UA flights this weekend, but also have a number of UA flights right around Christmas and New Years (right near the 90-day challenge window). I sent the email requesting a status match from CO Gold to UA 1P yesterday, with a copy of my CO statement showing gold.

I had seen some older posts showing that people heard back with a response within a few hours, or a day or so.

Has anyone used that email address recently? And, if so, what was your experience?

Thanks in advance!

Mike

gobluetwo Sep 25, 2007 1:35 pm

i faxed mine in, but hadn't heard anything after about 4 biz days. b/c i had a flight the next day, i called MP HQ in S Dakota. explained my situation and the guy got me set up within the hour.

not sure how long the email takes, but i would call directly if you don't get anything by thursday.
