Does Thai Air do status matches or challenges. I am EX PLT with AA and am concerned about the JAL mess. I have done a search for thai in this thread and come up empty. Thanks.

UA blocks a lot of TG flights for * award redemption.
In addition, flying UA's G/L/S/T/W don't earn miles at all to TG's program.
OZ has better accrual program for UA flights.

Hi everyone,
I am hoping to ask for your collective guidance.
I am pretty new to the forum so please dont hesitate to tell me if this is a dumb idea. I have a new job that requires that I fly several times a week (out of SWF now but soon out of EWR.)
I have been reading the match thread and considering my options for getting status with Delta or Continental given that I dont have any status to speak of yet.
I noticed on the US Airways website that I could buy status on US Airways, which might even be useful for the next month flying out of SWF. I was wondering if yall think that I might be able to get status matched by Delta based on a purchased status with US Airways? And if so, if I might similarly be able to get matched by Continental based on the status match from Delta?
From reading the thread it sounds as if this would only work up to gold level because Delta typically will not match above mid-tier.
This isnt an inexpensive solution but might it work?
Thanks for your input!

I believe your idea may not yield the result you're looking for. Typically, the airline doing the matching will also want to see a sufficient amount of previous travel, not just a quick promo that got you to the competing airlines elite status. You will need to submit last year's travel history in addition to a copy of your elite card.
That said, it never hurts; except the money you may be spending for the "temporary" elite status on US.
Good luck!

I just applied for UA Premiere Status -
They emailed back that I have to wait until after Feb 2, and then reapply -
Bummer as I have about 48k BIS before then...
Anyone know a way to get in earlier?
BTW - US CP with 180K BIS with over half in Asia expected for 2010.
Thanks in advance!

Inter-*A matching
Hello all!
I realize from the first post that the following may be difficult, but do any of you know if it will be simply impossible?
I have a measly EBS (EuroBonus Silver) status, i.e. *A silver. While I mostly fly out of OSL, I prefer flying Lufthansa and, even more so, Swiss - I feel the service is better and I don't mind not flying direct flights (on the contrary, I quite enjoy not doing so). I've just recently joined Miles&More via Swiss and will have my first flight registered to them later this year.
Do you think there is any chance Miles & More will match my EBS to FTL? They will see from my transcript from 2009 that half my flights are already LH/LX, the remaining mostly SK (and a few flights on others).

Here is quote from their response:
OnePass offers a promotion that could match the current earned elite status of another airline frequent flyer program with an equivalent level in the OnePass Elite program. Some airlines are not eligible for this program and it may not be processed at the airport. We will need to review documents from the eligible airline. You may submit an e-mail attachment* or mail the documents along with your OnePass account number to:
