Would there be another airline that matches based only on a copy of the card?
They never asked for any statement, just copies of the elite cards of the most flown airlines.

CO match!

(OK, maybe the exclamation point is over the top considering how CO is matching left and right...)

I am an AA Exec Plt home based in FRA.

Goal: Access to *A perks, a natural desire considering I am at Fortress LH.

Sent a request by email to CO at 1425 CET. Included copies of my current AA statement, EXP card as well as name, CO number, phone, address. Included a brief note that I have been considering a *A carrier for some time but none have appealed to me, but with CO joining *A...

2.5 hours later I logged into my CO account and saw I was matched as a PLT.

Not to shabby considering I have never set foot on CO metal.
Last November I was without airline status. Ever. Now I am top tier with 2 airlines^!

Thanks FT!

My PLT Elite card arrived in the mail today. Exp 2/10. Still has the Skyteam logo. (Hope the *A has an expiration date in 2 11)

NW vs Delta - status match question

I sent in a NW status match request on 9/2 and haven't heard back. Got an email that NW and Delta programs will be merging early next month so wondering if NW will actually status match or drop the request due to the merger timing.

Any suggestions on whether I should also send in a request to Delta or just wait? Have some NW flights coming up in about 10 days so would really like to have status match on SkyTeam if possible.

By the way, I've been a UA 1K for many years but finding it harder to fly UA for personal and business due to UA's 20%+ higher fares lately for most travel I've looked into. Too bad because I really do prefer UA and *A but really can't continue to justify their high fares.

Thanks

NWA matches have been very slow (2-4 weeks). Search the last page or two of the thread for some details.

Just wondering if anyone can clarify whether the "one-match per lifetime" rule still applies at CO as a result of them leaving skyteam?

I'd like them to match my NW/DL plat but have already been matched by CO in the past.

What the heck, ask them. You'll have an answer in a few hours.

Do you think CO will be less willing to match UA*G and *G status after CO enter *A? Would it be better to ask for a match now?

I doubt they'd match United status once they join the Star Alliance, so now would be the time to match.

I have basically the same question in addition to this one:

If I would do a SE status match from Worldperks to OnePass (if granted) and discover after the period of CO's DEQM ends that I don't like their program enough , could I then ask for a status match from DL/Skyteam or would this be beyond the cut-off time of their partnership ?

You should be able to match from Northwest Silver -> Continental Silver -> Delta Silver if you really wanted to....

I see no reason the "once in a lifetime" rule wouldn't apply. That being said, please do email them and ask, and be sure to report back. No harm.

Match to other alliance ?

"A variety of criteria, including information from your Continental
Airlines mileage summary, is considered when evaluating requests from
members to match elite status from another airline. After reviewing the
information provided to us on your OnePass account, your Northwest
WorldPerks account has been upgraded to Platinum Elite status. This
one-time complimentary membership upgrade will remain valid through the
2010 elite program year. "

Looks like the status wil extend through 2010. I did ask in the cover letter for the status to be through 2010 as I already qualified for 2010 Plat status with CO.
Is it possible to status match between different alliances i.e. will this same jump to DL/Skyteam (NWA-WP being dead ) be possible after the split from CO on 10/24 ?

Received a confirmation from CO OnePass that they will match my AF-KLM Flying Blue status. If I send a request now, will it be valid for the whole 2010 or this will only be until Feb or March 2010?

Has anyone tried a status match from UA to CX?
I'm about to go Gold on UA but much of my flying is being done to HK and China which would be much better on CX.
