CO status match

Just an extra data point for the thread. Submitted my BD *G status for a match with CO and was matched to CO Plat. Took a few days in total from faxing in the details.

Gave them copies of my last 12 months of account activity and details of forthcoming travel plans involving CO. Not sure what part (if any) influenced it.

Anyone know if DL will status match through their european service center or will I have to go via the US site?

Also anyone have any experience doing a stat match from LH SEN to DL? do they match at the mileage level ie 100k to 100k or levels?

many thanks

Co Plat status match to oneworld, with QF benefits

I've searched, but haven't found what I am looking for yet.

I am a CO plat, who likely will be moving to Australia, meaning I'll more be more likely to fly QF. I am looking for a oneworld partner for a status match. I've contacted QF, AA, and BA, all of which stated they do not match CO status.

(this seems silly to me, since I've had numerous business class fares from the US to both Australia and Europe in the past 60 days, and it seems like no carrier is interested in getting a share of that. But thats off-topic).

Any suggestions for a oneworld carrier that MIGHT match, and one that processes the request quickly? I am interested in lounge access, or any benefits that might be transferable and usable with flights on QF. Ultimately, I'll end up flying QF (including next week) from the states, and more frequently within Australia.

I would first match to a competitor that flies Australian routes (like UA) and then see what they say...however, I have no idea whether QF even matches at all - you'll have to read through this thread.

UA will give you either a match or a challenge, as would AA - which would be the way to go in your case.

If you don't mind flying a few biz tickets on AA, you could easily do the Gold or Platinum ChAAlenge.

Edited to Add: Is Virgin Australia still flying to the States? You might wish to consider flying them as well.

I'm looking at matching to CO, my company are changing policy a little and am considering getting it from BA.

Based on the first post I assumed any of my top tiers would get me CO Plat, or do I have to prove myself to get that level? If I have to show upcoming CO travel and my life story then I'll just put the miles into BD or UA. I was hoping they'd give me a carrot, then I'd be likely to book the travel.

Hi TimG

QF does not typically status match. However, if you do the ChAAlenge for PLT on AA, you can use the QF lounges once you have it. I moved down here several years ago and have never had a problem using lounges on PLT or ExPLT status, etc...

Also, AA is a much more generous program than QF in many respects. However, OF is very stingy in upgrades and other perks for non-QF flyers. Earn/Burn is much better on AA then any of the programs down here...QF evidently treats their own high status flyers fairly well, but with over 1.2m on AA, it is difficult for me to switch at this point...

You can also purchase QC membership that gets you into the lounges. If you are flying Biz, then you have access anyway....

Hope that this helps.

Since CO is now S* I doubt it can be done.
You could always try to backdoor it by going LH->DL->CO.

Lufthansa will not match your status but you should try Continental or bmi to become Star Alliance Gold.

KLM will not status match either. Here you should try Delta!
