According to the info listed with the new card, it will still be no FX and no annual fee. So, look like I don't need to apply the Rogers MC or Amazon Visa after-all.

but this is a very bad cash card, 1% on Gas / Grocery / DrugStore & Recurring Payments, then 0.5% on anything else. So, definitely not using it unless I am outside of Canada.
I wonder if Scotiabank created a subset of their cards for no FX just for the Chase people, or if this card is available to be applied for publicly.

nah, they had a 100points/dollar for Turbotax a while ago. People bought it, they took the offer down because... well... it was too good to be true. That was 4 months ago...

Since Scotia does not have any MC before, they are just rebanding the Chase Sears card for now. Once they complete the transition, they may start offering this card to the general public. Or they will follow what others like CIBC had done in the past where they will just start offering new MC card but not this particular no FX card. I guess we all just need to wait and see.

Applied for the CIBC Aeroplan Visa via online. Got a letter in the mail declining my application. I called in to verify the reason and the agent told me I needed a credit score of 750. My credit score is 710 with several credit card signups in the past 2 months. I was quite shocked to be rejected.

Um... I don't have a 710 score, and I have been able to successfully sign up for this card

I'll try to call in again to see if I can get a different answer. I'm perplexed.
