Tsk tsk, should've kept that information away from the public.

I guess you have to book through their travel service?

I didn't know they had CX, only knew about Westjet. Any other airlines?

Monthly points? You mean annual? How exactly do you pay insurance then?

that rep did said done within the month will be one pull only, but I don't believe in him, plus what's the difference for do it again for duplicate application? they just need someone in recon line to overwrite it, Canada CC business is way behind US

I agree that it is rediculous that they don't have a recon line

That link was taken from GreedyRates.ca

I pay my insurance month-by-month by CC normally. But because we won't be able to pay with CC anymore starting November first I just pre-paid for the year this time.

You can pay monthly, but have to go to an actual autoplan dealer (I go to london drugs) to pay by CC - otherwise it's just direct deposit.

I called RBC last night to complain about the BA devaluation of short-haul rewards just two weeks into me having the card. They were understanding, but didn't offer any compensation (which I get, since they don't control BA). They said that I could convert to a RBC rewards card just to keep the balance I obtained, get a pro rata refund (about $150) and get the 15k Avios just for signing up the card. So it's not a total loss. I just didn't want to feel the need to spend $9k on this card for points that are now a lot less useful for me (would rather spend that on SPG or regular Avion).

Just a fyi if others are kicking themselves for getting this card.

I've already spent the 9K 1st statement and it looks like the 35,000 bonus miles will be dribbled out over the next few months.

Maybe next years bonus will be 65k to make up the shaft we all got?

At least I didn't transfer a MR dime over with the recent 1.25X.

Honestly, the BA short haul devaluation isnt THAT big of a deal to me personally - it just sets a really bad precedent. Instead of being a distance-based chart it's now a "distance-based except if we feel like it" chart. What's stopping them for arbitrarily increasing other values, such as BOS-DUB? Or all trans-ocean? From YVR, the only routes affected are YVR-SEA and YVR-PDX. To Seattle I can drive and YVR-PDX is cheap anyway and doesnt reslly have to be used for positioning hardly ever
